Preparing in Advent for the Birth of the Lord
What better way to prepare for Christmas is there than deepening your faith? Sacred Heart School will be offering to all parents and friends of the school the opportunity to watch the amazing new series "Catholicism" and share in discussion about this wonderful journey of the mind, heart, and soul. You can watch the trailer here. We will begin with Episode 1 "Amazed and Afraid - The Revelation of God Become Man" starting next Wednesday, November 16 at 8:30 a.m. in the Moore Theater. If there is sufficient interest, we may offer an evening opportunity as well.
For more information, please contact Mr. Burroughs.
Holiday Decorations Sale
Once again we are selling nativity sets and angels in support of the Renewal Food Bank. These items were donated to the food bank, which has no way to sell them to support their mission. Sacred Heart School has agreed to help them by offering them for sale to our community. Items will be available for sale Nov. 21-23 after school. You may also purchase one from the school office. All proceeds will be sued to feed hungry families here in Bellevue. - Mr. Burroughs
Brrr....
It's cold out there! Please have your students wear coats to school (hats and mittens are a good idea on particularly cold days). Please label names in all of the articles of clothing coming to school.
Field Trip Drivers
If you are planning on driving for a field trip this year we need this driver form completed and turned in to the school office.
Early Dismissal November 23rd
ESS will be offered from dismissal at 11:45 AM until 3:00 PM on Wednesday, November 23rd. Parents should email Amy Davis to sign up. There will be fewer staff available than usual, limiting the numbers of spots available. Parents please send their students with bag lunches. - Amy Davis

CYO High School Basketball
Yes, that's right! CYO does have a high school basketball league and we are looking to get some Sacred Heart teams together. But first we need to know if we have enough students interested to form teams. Games would take place on the weekends in January and February. Students who are not playing on a high school team and are parishioners of Sacred Heart are welcome to join. So, if you are a high school student or have a high school student who is looking for team to join this winter please contact Beth Granlund.
More info will be sent out once we know we have enough players.

Parish Pledge Cards
It is time to complete your annual parish pledge card. Your pledge supports the programs of Sacred Heart Parish (including the parish's support of our school). This pledge is for the calendar year of 2012. Pledge cards can be picked up at Mass in the pews or in the parish office. Please note: all families who pay the contributing parishioner tuition rate must have a current pledge card on file and are expected to fulfill their pledge to the best of their ability.
New Altar Server Training
As we approach the Thanksgiving and Christmas Seasons it is good to think how you can help out at Church. There will be training for students in the 4th grade or higher who would like to be Altar Servers. We will meet in Church for about an hour and a half or so both Tuesday, Nov. 15 and Tuesday Nov. 22 at 2pm right after school. If these times do not work out for you, we will find another time for you to learn how to serve. If you are already a trained Altar Server, you do not need to retrain but if you would like to help train the new Altar Servers, please come and help me.
- Peace, Sr. Mary Jo
