Prospective families will have the opportunity to learn more about our school and the admissions process. The evening will include guided campus tours and teachers in all grades will be available to speak about their programs including pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, 1-5th grades.  We will have a middle school (grades 6-8) presentation from 7-8 p.m. and encourage our current Sacred Heart parents in grades 4 and 5 to attend as well as new families interested in SHS. Let us know if you know someone that we should invite or stop by the office to pick up some postcards. - Mrs. Knapp

Fundraising Thermometer

Our goal for the year is $250,000.

Currently we are at $218,124  in pledges including those that indicated corporate matches. After our mailing we had a few corrections so our total has dropped a bit. We still have $32,000 to go in pledges to meet our goal!

Thank you to those of you that have already made their annual fund donation! Please review your pledge amount and consider helping us get to our goal of $250,000. You may also want to consider Corporate Matching - we get matches from Microsoft, Boeing, Wells Fargo, McDonald's, Costco, Starbucks, Intel, Coca Cola, Merck and more. Please contact Alison Scott if you want more information regarding Corporate Matching

95% of our families have already pledged. If you have not made your pledge, please do it today. We need your support!

Please make checks payable to Sacred Heart School and mail or turn in the school office. You can also make your payment online and set up monthly payments at Donate Online. Please be aware that for online donations, the school incurs a 3.5% service fee.

SPD Guest Speaker Follow-up Resources

We were pleased to welcome Stefanie Thomas from the Seattle Police Department again to Sacred Heart School on Tuesday, October 25. Stefanie is a Victim Advocate in the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Unit. Last year she met with parents during a SHS Parent's Club sponsored event in March. This time around, she met with our 7th and 8th graders during an assembly in the Moore Theater and discussed internet safety, cyber-bullying, social networking and safety tips with the students. As a resource, we have posted A Parent's Guide to FaceBook on the Parents' Club website.  Additionally, the website connectsafely.org offers a variety of smart safety tips for socializing on the web. If you would like any follow-up information about this presentation or have any questions please feel free to contact Julie Chandler.

New Altar Server Training

As we approach the Thanksgiving and Christmas Seasons it is good to think how you can help out at Church. There will be training for students in the 4th grade or higher who would like to be Altar Servers. We will meet in Church for about an hour and a half or so both Tuesday, Nov. 15 and Tuesday Nov. 22 at 2:00 right after school. If these times do not work out for you, we will find another time for you to learn how to serve. If you are already a trained Altar Server, you do not need to retrain but if you would like to help train the new Altar Servers, please come and help me.  - Peace, Sr. Mary Jo

If you have content to include in future newsletters *please first obtain administration permission* by e-mailing your submission into the school office.  Newsletters are published weekly and content must be received by Tuesday evenings.- Tracy Takeuchi
