Pro-Life Month
October is Pro-Life Month for the Catholic Church. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has created this flyer for Pro-Life Month this year that makes good reading for all adults. It might also make a good discussion starter with your children.
This year, Fr. Pat and I have decided to have our 8th grade students watch and discuss this video, also produced by the USCCB about marriage and family life. I encourage all parents to watch it. - Mr. Burroughs
From the Development Office
Annual Fund Kicks Off - Later this week, you will receive a letter confirming your pledge for the Annual Fund that you made when you registered your child(ren) last spring. If you indicated that your company matched funds, we have made an assumption for the matched amount. If you know it to be different, please let me know and I will make the adjustment for our budget. Currently, we have $225,000 in pledges for our 2011-12 Annual Fund. We have a goal of $250,000 so we are a bit short by $25,000. If you would like to increase your pledge, you don't need to notify us, just simply increase your amount when you make your payment. We have created an online webpage for you to conveniently make your donation at Give Now. This link is also on the SHS homepage under the link section. If you have not yet made your pledge, you will also be receiving a letter with a pledge request. Currently 95% of our SHS families have pledged. Please help us get to our goal this year of 100% pledged and $250,000 in donations! Thank you so much for your generous support of Sacred Heart School! - Alison Scott 425-451-1773 x 107
8th Grade Mission Statement
The Class of 2012 began the process of writing a Mission Statement for themselves on their retreat and completed the process on Wednesday of this week. Their mission statement will be featured on posters in every room where they have class. I thought that you all might like to see what they crafted. I am proud of their work. - Mr. Burroughs
Class of 2012 Mission Statement
As active Catholics, our goal is to become academic and behavioral role models inside and outside of school, to encourage each other, and to express diversity with energy and enthusiasm.

Alumni News
Phillip Barber (2011), ASB president 2010-2011, is now a freshman at Bishop Blanchet High School. He is taking honors geometry with only a few other freshman, but mostly sophomores. Phillip credits his success in high school math to his studies here at SHS, especially, "Mrs. Jorissen [who] taught us the math foundations and building blocks that we need to succeed."
