First Day of School

The first day of school this year is this Wednesday, August 31st.

It is going to be a full day.

  • We will begin with an assembly in the church at 8:30am. Mass will be held at 10:00am.
  • Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 11:35 am
  • Students in grade 1-8 will be dismissed at 11:45am
  • Students should bring their summer work books and assignments with them to turn in to their new teacher.
  • 7th grade students will remain after school until 2:00pm for a mini retreat. Please have them bring comfortable clothes that they can change into.  Lunch will be provided.
  • The Middle School Back to School Night will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Back to School Nights

Our Back to School Nights will be held this year on the first two nights of the school year. All parents are encouraged to attend. *This is not an event for students.*

These evenings will provide an opportunity for you to meet with your child's teacher(s) and learn about the year ahead (policies, activities, expectations, curriculum, discipline, etc.). You will also hear a presentation about upcoming school activities and programs. This is an important evening for all parents.

 

Middle School Lockers **TODAY**

All Middle School students are encouraged to come to school on Monday, August 29th between 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. to receive your new locker assignments and locks and to set up your locker for the new school year. It's also a great opportunity to say hello to friends and teachers.

 

7th Grade Mini-Retreats - UPDATE

Immediately following the end of the first day of school, all 7th grade students are asked to attend a special mini-retreat to start off the year. Pizza and drinks will be provided. Students are invited to bring a snack to share. The mini-retreats will run from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. The boys and girls will each have their own separate events. Please plan to attend. We want everyone to have the opportunity to kick-off the year together.  **Please bring a change of clothes to play and be comfortable**

 

Tuition 2011-2012 Payment In Full

If your family has chosen to pay tuition in full, please note payment is due no later than Thursday, September 1st.  Please write a check to Sacred Heart School and you may mail it, drop it off in the office at front desk, or drop it into the secured mailbox drop at front lobby door.  As a reminder our tuition rates are as follows:

 

In Parish:  One Child  $6,155; Two Children  $11,965; Three Children $17,265; Four Children $23,020.  Please note:  In order to qualify for In Parish rate, your family must have a pledge card on file at the parish and be active in SH parish life both financially and through active participation.  If you are not sure if your pledge card status is up-to-date, please contact Val at the parish office soonest at 425-454-9536.

 

Out of Parish:  One Child  $9,295; Two Children  $18,585; Three Children $27,880; Four Children $37,170.

 

Pre-K: $3,750 per child

Extended School Services (ESS) Information

Morning ESS will not be offered on the first day of school. ESS will be available after the 11:45 dismissal until 3:00. Please see the website for more information.

 

Important Message from the School Nurse

Please see the SHS website to review the *requirements* for medications, life threatening issues, care plans and immunization cards.

 

Safe Environment Training Class

September 7th, in Parish Hall, from 6-9 pm.

All new volunteers are required to complete this class.

From Parents' Club 

On behalf of the Parents' Club Board, welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! We feel fortunate to be part of such a great school and community. I would love to invite you to two upcoming events, please mark your calendars and plan on attending!

 

Back to School Coffee - SHS Gym 8:30am 8/31

On the first day of school, the community of Sacred Heart School gathers in the gym to begin the school year in prayer.  Once our teachers have lead their students back to class, the SHS Parents' Club and Service Board host a Back to School Coffee in the gym for parents; this is a great way to reconnect with parents you have met over the summer, as well as meet new ones!

 

Ice Cream Social - SHS Gym 6:30-8:30pm 9/8

Please join the Sacred Heart Parents' Club at a fun back to school event. Come and make sundaes and enjoy the company of other SHS families.

Scrip (Gift Cards) Update - First chance to buy!

Need to replace all those gift cards you have used over the summer? Have you started getting ahead of your 2011-2012 fundraising obligation?

Scrip will be on sale in the gym at the Back to School Coffee on Wednesday August 31st and then again on Thursday afternoon September 1st in the lower parking lot.

Pick up cards for groceries, gas, coffee, and back-to-school items.  And don't forget to complete and turn in a Standing Monthly Order Form. 

It's the easiest way to ensure you will receive cards automatically each month during the school year!

  

 

Safeway Club Card eScrip Back-to-School Promotions

Please register your Safeway Club Card on eScrip so the school can automatically receive credit on your purchases.

Mark your calendars - between August 10 and September 13, purchase any of the select thousands of items marked with the "school bus" tags and the school will earn 10% of the purchase price.

Look for a message that prints on your receipt between September 19 and October 9. If the receipt has a redemption code - turn it into the school office.
