Dear Friends,

This summer Gathering Change, Inc., decided to do one newsletter instead of three in order to take a little break...but as you peruse the stories below you will see this was not possible.  At the beginning of the summer we received word that the Reading Food Pantry was running low on food, adding to the news from other area food pantries that hunger among the elderly and children was at an all time high.  With your support and generosity we stayed on track to meet our mission.  Just as hunger does not take a vacation, neither does Gathering Change, Inc.

Coming this fall Gathering Change, Inc., has something for everyone!

Photographer Michael Nye spent more than four years traveling around the United States, listening to people struggling with hunger. The result is a moving collection of portraits and first-person, recorded narratives of the experience of hunger. "I have been profoundly inspired by each participant," he says, "and feel with even greater conviction that we all need to speak of how difficult life is for so many in our country."
