Dear Friends,

What does it take to change a life?  It takes an unrelenting hunger to do what is right for our human family.  In the case of Gathering Change, Inc., it took hundreds of people of every age and background to help us raise $100,000.  Our Treasurer, Susie Cleary, said it best:

"If you think back about how Gathering Change, Inc.

all started, you'll remember that we were just aiming to capture the change people had in bowls on their

kitchen counters, on top of their dryers, in their car ashtrays.  $100,000 is that much more remarkable

when you think of it as money people did not even

know was there.  When you consider that for every

$1 we donate to the food pantries, most can purchase

$4 worth of food at the food banks this makes the

value even greater!"

We are humbled by the support we have received and grateful that all of you think differently about spare change.  To give what we already have, to feed the one in 9 in our State who are hungry, is a step in the right direction.

Congratulations and thank you!

Sincerely,

Dorothy Goodwin, President

Debbie asked her office to donate their spare change to benefit Gathering Change, Inc. They were excited to know that the funds raised in their community stay in their community. Their donations over this past year have been sent to the Women's Lunch Place in Boston. This is where poor and homeless women can get daytime shelter and nutritious food.
