Public Invited to Help Update the
DuPage 2020 Transit Plan @ 2 Open Houses

DuPage Transit PlanDu Page County encompasses 334 square miles, is home to more than 40,000 businesses and 900,000 residents of all ages, races, ethnicities, religions and socioeconomic backgrounds. As a significant segment of the US population reaches their golden years, the need for and reliance upon personal mobility is one of the regions' more pressing issues. To adequately address the future mobility needs of DuPage County residents and businesses (both employers & employees), it is certain that constructing larger roadways is not the sole solution, but must also include an efficient public transit network of trains (traditional & high speed rail), buses (fixed route, ADA and bus rapid transit), taxis/vanpools all integrated into a comprehensive public transit system.

The current DuPage County Area Transit Plan was first adopted in 2002, and is in the process of being updated. One of the characteristics of the initial plan development was the high level of public participation that included citizen input during a variety of open houses and feedback workshops. Citizen input was instrumental in helping elected public officials better communicate and make informed decisions on their behalf.  To this end, the following two open houses are scheduled to solicit citizen-constituent input into the plan's eventual update:

Mon., November 8th                      Wed., November 10th

    6:00 - 8:00 PM                                 2:00 - 4:00 PM

College of DuPage                          Stratford Square Mall

425 Fawell Blvd.                             152 Stratford Drive

 Student Resource Ctr.                         Upper Level
