Here's an important reminder to our day school community: Rabbi Druin will return to the Beth Yeshurun community on Sunday, December 18 and Monday, December 19 for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fulfill one of the 613 commandments--writing the Torah. BYDS Choir Performs Hanukkah Hits at The Hampton

Our BYDS Choir, this year comprised of students from our Second through Fourth Grade, performed this week at The Hampton at Post Oak, an assisted living residence for seniors. It was a special occasion because present in the audience were several multi-generational family members-several parents and grandparents-of the BYDS Choir members.  Five members of the BYDS Choir had the opportunity at the conclusion of the program to greet and introduce their multi-generational family members in attendance.

Hanukkah and patriotic songs were featured in the program, which also included accompaniment from pianist Betty Gorme. Under the direction of Dora Lee Grinberg, the Choir often performs at this time of year at several venues, including homes for seniors and hospitals.  We are all so proud of our BYDS Choir!

Message to our Build Our Future Supporters:  

If you have purchased a tile or room naming and received a letter from us before Thanksgiving, please return your wording form so we can stay on track with assembling the plaques. We thank all of our families for your support to Build Our Future--we are very excited about the attractive way that we will be honoring our many supporters. Dear Parents:

Thank you again for completing the hot lunch survey.  We took your suggestions seriously and below are the changes we implemented:

Hot Lunch will now be offered Monday-Thursday to Pre-K!  Pre-K parents, you may ONLY order from the main entree menu.  There will be no pasta or baked potatoes served to Pre-K.

*Please note the cut-off date is December 18. No orders can be accepted after this date.*

We would like to introduce some exciting new items to our menu!    

We have also modified some of our existing items:
- We will be serving enriched white tortillas with our quesadillas.  All other bread products (rolls, bread and bagels) will remain whole grain/whole wheat.
- Quesadillas will be plain (no beans)
- We will be adding grapes and fruit salad to the fruit rotation
- We will no longer serve pudding for dessert
- Caesar salad will accompany Grilled Cheese weekly

A few reminders:
- Please remind your children that unlimited amounts of salad, cut veggies and cut fruit are available daily
- Please read the menu descriptions carefully with your child so they know which sides they can expect with each meal
- Please remember that extra portions are available for purchase.  We cannot give extra portions of entrees otherwise.
