Welcome New York Says Thank You!
Hundreds of guests are beginning to arrive for a wonderful event~ the barn raising for Build an Ark Animal Sanctuary. New York Says Thank You volunteers from all over the country are arriving to "Pay It Forward" and help rebuild the barn destroyed during the early April tornado that struck our community.
More than just a barn raising, this project is way to bring our community together to help a neighbor. Started after 9/11, the New York Says Thank You foundation will bring 9/11 first responders, volunteers from other communities that have been helped by NYSTY, and our own Gilmer Countians together.
Please get involved and welcome our guests!

New York Says Thank You
We are looking for a few good volunteers to help with our onsite welcome center that we will be setting up at the build location. We just need people who can give directions, recommend restaurants, and help our guests feel right at home.
We will be set up Wednesday thorough Saturday. Can you give us a few hours one of those days? If so, please call Paige at 706.635.7400 or email paigeg@gilmerchamber.com.

Teacher's Breakfast Scheduled
Want to welcome our educators back for the 2011-2012 school year. The Chamber will be hosting the annual Teacher's Breakfast on Tuesday, August 9th with breakfast provided by North Georgia Medical Center.
How can you get involved? Provide us with a door prize from your business and we will give them out to our educators. This is a great way to say thank you and to get your business in front of over 500 local citizens!
Just bring it by the Chamber office at 368 Craig St., East Ellijay, or call us at 706-635-7400 and we will come by and pick it up.

Put your business in front of DSC students
The Chamber will again be putting together welcome back bags for all Dalton State College- Gilmer Campus students returning this fall. If you would like to put something in the bags for the students, please provide 300 of the item by Friday, August 5, 2011.
This is a great way to welcome these students back and to get your business in front of them.
