Greetings!

May is off to a great start as we kick it off with Buellton Bargain Day on May 5th, then we roll right into the Buellton Brew Fest on May 12th and of course our Mixer on May 16th.  Needless to say, we're busy little bees here at the Chamber.  We hope you find yourself busy with business as we head into our summer season.  Please join us for all of these great events along with those going on throughout the valley.
  May 16th Mixer    5-7pm
Block Party at Oak Plaza  with Pattibakes, Neary Chiropractic, Buellton Dental, AMR, and Santa Barbara Healthcare.
We're gearing up for a good 'ole Buellton Block Party.  This is going to be a great mixer showcasing 5 of our members located in the Oak Plaza.  Come and meet the business owners and meander through their offices and store fronts as they offer drinks and bites along the way.  AMR will be doing a hands only CPR demonstration and may possibly have one of their units on display.  We hope to see you there!  Our Mixers offer a great opportunity for networking and meeting fellow Chamber members and friends.  If you would like to promote your business a bit further with a donation of a raffle prize, please contact the Chamber.  We appreciate your kind contributions and look forward to seeing you on May 16th!
We have added a couple of new drawings to our Mixers.
For $1.00 you may enter your business card into a drawing.  Following the Raffle prize give away, we will draw a business card out of the bowl.  The first card drawn will win the money that was collected for the drawing.  The next card pulled will be our Featured Business or Person in the next Chamber Newsletter.  Please see below for our Featured Person of the month. The Perpetual Drawing that we do on a monthly basis went unclaimed.  The number drawn belonged to Classic Mobile Notary, but the winner must be present to win.  Next month's perpetual drawing will go up to $65.00.

Jody Potthast
Jody Potthast
Hi, my name is Jody Potthast and I won the chance to write my story.  I have lived in the valley for 8 years and know many of you.  My daughter and son-in-law are Judy and Bob Blokdyk of Windmill Nursery.  I worked for Neary Chiropractic in 2007 and left in 2008 to spend more time with my husband.  He passed away in 2009.  I also worked for the Chamber at that time and stayed with them until last fall when I went back to work for Neary Chiropractic.  I enjoyed the Visitors Bureau and enjoyed the people I worked with.  I still go to mixers and help out when needed.  I am also enjoying working with Dr. James Neary again at Neary Chiropractic.  It was good to see a lot of old friends who still see Dr. Neary to keep themselves in good health.  Come see us sometime and see what we can do for you.  I also enjoy singing and I belong to the Santa Ynez Valley Master Chorale.  We are having our spring concert this month at St. Mark's in Los Olivos.  Hope to see many of you there.  I also enjoy gardening and have many beautiful roses.  See you soon.
 Seeking Chamber Member Discounts
Cha-Ching!  Is that the sound of another sale?  The Chamber is working on putting together a pamphlet or brochure that will list our member discounts.  These will then be handed out to our visitors and community.  If you have an ongoing special that you offer and would like to get the word out to our community and visitors, please email the information to [email protected]. For example:  Maybe you offer 10% off on Monday or Two for one on Tuesday, etc.  We invite you to take advantage of this great opportunity and encourage people to shop local and do business with you.

Thank You Avant Tapas & Wine!
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Joe Padilla and his entire staff at Avant for hosting our April Mixer.  It was the perfect time to "Wine" down after tax season.  We truly appreciate our hosts and the lengths they go to in order to welcome us into their establishments and treat us to a special evening.  Our mixers allow our businesses to showcase what they do to our members and community.  Please be sure to share your appreciation to our gracious hosts when you get a chance and pay them a visit again in the future. Avant / Terravant is a custom crush facility where grapes are processed, bottled, labled and shared with patrons. Tours are available and I encourage you to do so, you will be amazed at the production that takes place right here in Buellton.   As you are aware, our chamber depends on membership, fundraisers, and mixer raffles to support our day to day operations.  Many thanks to our members who are very generous with donations for our raffle:  Buellton Kitchen & Bath~All Sport Fitness Center~SYV Humane Society~MNS Engineers~Marborg Industries~Country Garden Catering~Valley Pets~Ryan Cuff~Bankers Life and Casualty~Neary Chiropractic~Santa Barbara County Vintner's Association~Blush Boutique~JHJ & Associates~Prodigal Wines~Ron Anderson Real Estate~Santa Barbara Bank & Trust~Buellton Medical Center~First Bank~First American Title~American Cancer Society.  Our Perpetual Drawing winner was Classic Mobile Notary, however they were not present so the drawing goes up to $65.00 at our next mixer.  Winner must be present to win.
