 Viva La Mujer!

In the spirit of celebrating International Women's Month,  I reflect back on the Latina's that inspire me, and are my role models.

I have 7 sisters and 3 brothers! I can say my sisters have played an important role in my life, such as teaching me self-respect and determination. Not to mention the gift our mother gave  us;

 " the gift of gab" We love to talk to anyone who is willing to listen.

From an historical perspective, Friday Khalo plays an important role in 3rd/4th generations Latina's such as myself. Latinas relate to her as women that was determine to succeed as an artist with a voice, even though she faced so many hardships.

Dolores Huerta- co-founder of UFW is a Latina I admire, she motivates me  to stay humble, never forget  my roots & to serve our community.

 I admire contemporary Latina's that are on the  move like Jennifer Lopez (named most beautiful women) & Sonia Sotomayor, US Supreme Justice. All around me I am inspired by the progress we are making in both the political and corporate worlds.

I know that each of you are inspired by many Latinas, we are lucky to live in a generation that offers opportunities to excel.

Give back by becoming a mentor!
