ARMY'S ARMY HAPPENINGS
American Taekwondo Association Martial Arts Regional Tournament: Hometown Heroes
On Saturday, February 12, The American Taekwondo Association Martial Arts Regional Tournament: Hometown Heroes was held at the Crown Coliseum Expo Center. The tournament was dedicated to saluting our wounded veterans who are Purple Heart recipients and recognized them for their bravery and sacrifice to our country. A portion of the entry fees and t-shirt sales was donated to the local Fort Bragg Chapter 2226 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart to help these combat wounded veterans. Thirteen Purple Heart recipients attended the tournament and were treated like superstars, signing autographs and shaking hands of those grateful for their service.

Operation Heartfelt Salute
The Army's Army is partnering with Cross Creek Mall for Operation Heartfelt Salute, a month-long military appreciation campaign, which kicked off Saturday, February 12, and will last through Saturday, March 12.
The kick off was awesome. Not only were shoppers paying attention, but the Fayetteville Observer did too!
The event began with a letter writing campaign, care package drive, "Tunes 4 the Troops drive," and $1.00 red, white and blue bracelet sales (where 100 % of the proceeds will go towards the military).
We are looking for members to volunteer their time throughout the month to collect items for the care packages and sell bracelets.
We also auditioned performers for an upcoming event. Stay tuned for more details.

Army's Army Recruitment Month
During Operation Heartfelt Salute, the Army's Army will be at Cross Creek Mall recruiting new members. We are looking for volunteers to help recruit and man the booth.
We will need volunteers to help support our efforts on Saturday, March 5; and Saturday, March 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Please contact me if you are able to help volunteer.
