ARMY'S ARMY HAPPENINGS

Helping a Military Family in Need

This past month the Army’s Army rallied together to help a military family in great need. The Lathrop family is struggling financially and living day-to-day caring for their six children, four of whom have serious medical conditions. Thanks to our members and partners we were able to supply the Lathrop family with clothing, toys, books, household needs, and gift cards. They still need your help. If you’d like to help, please contact me.

Community Information Fair at Fort Bragg

The Army’s Army attended the Fort Bragg Community Information Fair on September 28th. The purpose of the fair was to educate our community on the many benefits that different organizations have to offer. The event was very successful and provided soldiers and their families with a wealth of information about the community. The Army’s Army was there to create awareness about what we do and to recruit new members. We would like to welcome our 63 new members!

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO BE MORE INVOLVED

Join an Army’s Army committee. Log in to your account here to join the effort to help military families relocating to the community.

Attend an Army’s Army volunteer effort. All opportunities are sent to your inbox via Army’s Army e-blasts. So, look for events and special efforts going on where you can lend your time.

Recruit your friends. Do your friends know about the Army’s Army? If they are interested in supporting military families, we could use their help. Ask them to go to armysarmy.com. to join the cause.

    VETERANS DAY CARD SIGNING

The Army’s Army is hosting our 3rd Annual Veterans Appreciation Day at the Army’s Army Headquarters on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Army’s Army Headquarters is located at 342-5 Ray Avenue.

In an effort to show continued support to our soldiers, Army’s Army members will write personal “thank you” notes to Veterans. The cards will be distributed at the Fayetteville VA Hospital around the Thanksgiving holiday.

Orientation Weekend - Another Success!

The Army’s Army and FACVB hosted our second Orientation Weekend for DOD civilian/active duty military families during the weekend of September 24-26, 2010. Orientation Weekend was a huge success. The families that came were able to experience Fayetteville/Cumberland County at its finest. Our visitors were amazed by the love and hospitality they received.

Here are some of our rave reviews:

“Thank you for a spectacular weekend. I look forward to referring as many Georgians your way as possible. What a dynamic city.”

“Thanks so much for your hospitality and support this weekend. My wife and I really enjoyed our time in your town.”

“I just wanted to thank you for the successful Orientation Weekend. Thanks again for what you are doing.”

“I wanted to thank the Army’s Army again for your support for the transition we are about to experience. I especially thought having the Partners present was a very good benefit.”

“Busy life...but taking time to thank you and the whole team that helped us to have a memorable weekend. Thanks for your kindness and for organizing such helpful activities.”
