ARMY'S ARMY HAPPENINGS
On March 3, Stacy Strauss, director of sales, and Janine West, executive director of operations for the Army’s Army presented to the Cumberland County Veteran’s demonstrating how the Army’s Army supports our troops.
Many were excited to join and new relationships were built with other organizations such as the Rolling Thunder, Inc. Chapter 1 NC and the American Legion.
Rolling Thunder is also a non-profit organization-their mission is to publicize POW-MIA issues to educate the public that many American prisoners of war were left behind after all previous wars, and to help correct the past to protect future veterans from being left behind should they become prisoners of war or missing in action.
The Army’s Army is looking forward to teaming up with the Cumberland County Veteran’s, as well as Rolling Thunder in their efforts to support the military and their families.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO BE MORE INVOLVED
Be a buddy! Be a friend!
It's all happening the weekend of April 23-25, 2010, when the Dogwood Festival is in full bloom.
Fayetteville/Cumberland County will be hosting an Orientation Weekend inviting to town all civilian DOD families considering relocating to Fayetteville/Cumberland County.
All weekend long activities will take place to help families learn about the area and give them the tools to decide if we are the right community for them.
The Army's Army could really use you. We currently have 20 volunteers who have signed up. We still need 40 more friendly, outgoing volunteers to serve as a "buddies" to these families. By giving them a perspective of someone that actually lives here and sharing the parts of the community they otherwise wouldn't find, you're helping ease the strain of a difficult moving decision. You will help answer their questions, build a potential friendship, and share your opinions about what makes Fayettevillle/Cumberland County a great place.
- Remember, join an Army's Army committee. Log in to your account here to join the effort to help military families relocating to the community.
- Attend an Army's Army volunteer effort. All opportunities are sent to your inbox, so look for events and special efforts going on where you can lend your time.
- Recruit your friends. Do your friends know about the Army's Army? If they're interested in supporting military families, we could use their help. Ask them to go to armysarmy.com. to join the cause.

Seriously Committed |
|
Doug is all about helping his real estate clients succeed. He wants buyers to enjoy the process of finding the “right” home by reducing stress and anxiety. He believes this is a journey that should be enjoyed whether it is a first home, 50th home or investment property. Sellers need to understand the logical process and benefit of working with a professional broker/REALTOR®, like Doug, who is a marketing specialist, to help them be successful in selling their home.
It is all about knowing your job. Doug has obtained several real estate designations to better serve his clients. He has earned the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI) designations, which only approximately 13% of all REALTORS® earn. He also earned the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation, which less than 4% of all REALTORS® have or will earn. He is committed to better customer service. Doug also to serves on the Fayetteville Regional Association of REALTORS® Education Committee and is a real estate instructor.
Doug served in the US Army and is a Vietnam Veteran. After retiring from the insurance industry in 2001, he began his real estate career. Doug has lived in Fayetteville for over 30 years and knows the area well. Besides his church, he is involved and has held leadership positions in many local and civic organizations including the American Red Cross, Boy Scouts, Airborne and Special Operations Museum, and of course, The Army’s Army Q&A Team. Doug obviously believes in serving his country, his community and his clients.
The Army's Army salutes Doug Nunnally and all of the volunteers who go above and beyond to help our community's military families. If you would like to nominate a Featured Enlistee who is making a difference, send your recommendations to info@armysarmy.com.
