ARMY'S ARMY HAPPENINGS
Volksmarch
On October 17, 2009, MWR hosted its annual Volksmarch at Smith Lake in Fayetteville NC. Volksmarch is a German walk to get geared up for Oktoberfest. Volksmarch is a fun filled day of dancing, German style food, games for kids and to spread community awareness.Volunteers handed out mugs to those that participated in the walk/run festival. In addition to enjoying the festivities, Stacy Strauss and Diane Dean ( Director and Assistant Director of The Army's Army) spread awareness about The Army's Army to locals in the community and also recruited volunteers to this growing organization.
On another day, volunteers from the Army's Army help post flyers at businesses in downtown Fayetteville and Raeford Road to spread general awareness in the local community. The Army's Army would like to thank those that volunteered for this event, as well as the businesses that continue to support this organization. It is our hope that The Army's Army will immurse itself within the community and together live out its mission to support military families. To view your photos click here.
