INSIDE OUT, UPSIDE DOWN ON MAIN STREET

 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

July 21, 22 & 23

 vbs 2011

Where Jesus makes a difference every day!

On Main Street, kids will be drawn into stories Jesus told about everyday people in everyday situations. But His stories were anything but ordinary! Jesus turned lives upside down and hearts inside out through parables that challenged people to look at themselves and others in new and unexpected ways.

So come join us on Main Street for an inside-out, upside-down experience like no other...and let Jesus make a difference in YOU!

Times are Thursday and Friday: 6-8:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9:00 am - 12 noon.  Call Barbara Linker for more information, to volunteer to help, or to register your child at 704-788-8354

Themes for this year's Family Literacy Program are Building Projects, Cooking, Christmas, Scrapbooking, and our last session will be our annual cook-out.  Volunteers help with a rotation schedule, food preparation, music, childcare for our youngest children and more!  We also accept donations of food, new and slightly used books, and school supplies.  We can't do it without you.

Thank you

Dear Church Family,  I want to tell you "thanks" for your support through the years of my schooling.  I really appreciate the cards, gifts and sentiments extended to me."  Thanks again,

Josh Jones

Do you have some extra time?  Send a card or note to one of our homebound members or friends or make a visit.  It will brighten their day, and yours too.

Cemetery Challenge
Please remember our Cemetery Challenge for needed repairs in the cemetery.  Cost is approximately $2,000.  Thank you for your care and generosity!

Thank You to All Who Participated in the Parade this Year!

Mt. Hermon had an outstanding float in the Harrisburg  Parade on Saturday, July 2nd.  Mt. Hermon received first prize for "The Most Original Float".  Viewers were amazed at the float, which had a water theme (Jesus the Living Water), and the generosity of those who were handing out cold water.  We handed out over 1400 bottles of water.  About 50 members and friends participated  in creating the float, walking in the parade, and giving out water.  Many more donated water!  Thank you so much.

Look for us in the Independent Tribune this week.  We do still have some T-Shirts left.  See Bill Coleman to get your t-shirt.  If needed, we can have some more printed.
