Pastor Mark Ericson, an Ambassador from the NC Synod, will be coming to speak with Mt. Hermon to hear how God is changing our lives, and using us to change the lives of others.   He also wants to talk about the great things we (Mt. Hermon and the NC Synod) do together with the mission support Mt. Hermon sends the Synod each month (ie. Lutheran Services for the aged, Lenoir Rhyne University, Mission Congregations in the NC Synod and more), and about the great things we can do together in the future.  We will begin our session with a covered dish dinner, so plan to bring your favorite dish (meat, vegetable, desserts, breads).

Hello Girlfriends,

Wishing you could get away for a mini-vacation?  We've got your ticket!

"Wonder Full World" is an unforgettable travel-themed retreat the women of our church are doing together.  It includes worship, Bible Study, and time for laughter as well as time for quiet reflection.

At "Wonder Full World" we'll travel to each of the seven continents.  While there, we'll explore wonders of a woman's heart, such as "I wonder if I matter to God" or "I wonder where God is when life is hard."  We'll find the answers to each of these questions in the Bible and discover more of God's amazing love for us.

We'll begin with dinner on the evening of Friday, January 21, 2011 at 5 p.m. and will finish by 4:00 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, January 22.  Our retreat will be held at Camp Agape' and the cost is only $80 per person!  This covers 3 delicious meals, fun and refreshing activities, and comfortable lodging.

Call me at 704-787-0880 for more information.

Take time to relax, to make new friends, to worship, and to explore God's wondrous love.  We hope you'll join us at Wonder Full World!

Warmly,

Lisa McKinnon

Giving At Mt Hermon - Thank You

Thank you so much for responding to the needs at Mt. Hermon.  We are slowly gaining on our amount to be prayed over.  We've had several families catch up on their summer offerings - thank you.  Please keep up the prayers and your second mile giving - no amount is too small to help.  We can continue to help with the amount-to-be-prayed-over by doing the following:

1.  Catch up on your Sunday offerings.

2.  Make a second mile gift along with your regular Sunday offering.

3.  Make a commitment to add $1, $5, $10, $20 to your weekly giving.

4.  Pray for hearts that grow closer to God and grow in giving back to
     Him ever more generously.

5.  Give of your time volunteering.

Thank you for supporting God's work in the world through the ministries and mission of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church! God is doing great things through our many works.
Thank You
To:  James Garmon who volunteered his time to trim the shrubbery in the courtyard between the church and the office.  Thank you so much!  We appreciate your generosity of time and talent given to Mt. Hermon.

To:  Mt. Hermon In Memory of Ken's mom, Sophie Cooley.  Thanks so very much for the meal that you brought.  Also, all the prayers during this difficult time.  We are blessed to have all of you.  Love through Christ,  Kenny, Tammy and Clinton Cooley
