One Congregation, One Service
Mt. Hermon celebrated Pentecost at one service Sunday, May 23rd, as over 200 members and friends came together from our 4 services to worship together. Music from the 3 services, the 8:30 band, the 9:55 "Alive and Well" band and the 11 am Choir blended their music and voices 'to make a joyful noise unto the Lord'. As we read the Acts of the Apostles we could hear not only the different nationalities come together to hear about 'God's mighty power', but we could experience a bit of the diversity of those early days as our members and friends from very different forms of worship also heard the Word together, sang one another's songs, and shared the Holy Meal together.
Pastor Hahn confirmed six confirmands, Michael Habovick, Kacey Howard, Seth McKinnon, Toby & Cody Smith, and Sean Walsh, bringing them into adult membership at Mt Hermon. After service all celebrated with a meal together as we congratulated our newly confirmed and honored Pastor and Lyn Hahn as they prepare to take leave of Mt Hermon and begin their journey to Athens, Georgia.
Pastor Hahn's last worship services were this past Sunday May 30th and Monday, May 31st. The closing ritual was very moving. The congregation offered Pastor Hahn a box of letters thanking him for his many years of ministry at Mt Hermon, he received a personal communion set to use in his future ministry, a brass clock for his new office, and a digital frame (with Mt Hermon's photos) to help him remember everyone at Mt Hermon. |
