Christmas Caroling

14 Mt Hermon Members and Friends went caroling at the local nursing home and to some of our homebound. "It was a blessing to us as much as it was for them I think," said one of those who attended. Isn't that just like God - when we give something away, we always receive abundantly. |

"Merry Christmas and a Happy and Blessed New Year to all Members and Friends."
As we embark upon another year I am aware how quickly this year passed and how much I have missed. My new year's resolution is to not be so busy that life passes me by this year. I want to be more attentive to the people and things that matter most. I especially want to be more attentive to God in my life. How can I do this? What will it take? I know it will take time, reflection and being purposeful about my resolution. Maybe a reminder on my calendar each week - an appointment with myself and with God to notice all that has happened just during this one week and to be grateful, prayerful, intentional as I ask God to bless each event, each person, each challenge, each sadness and every joy I encounter. I want to pay more attention to my church family and get to know at least one person or one family better. I want to tithe, not just my money, but my time and talents - at least one hour a week, and who knows, maybe I will even learn something in return. Pray with me, and I will pray with you, that God will help us in our resolutions and give us hope as we enter into another year of grace in 2010.

A Personal Message From Pastor Hahn
Dear Members and Friends of Mt.Hermon; Dear Partners in Ministry!
Once again you have overwhelmed me with Grace through your indivi-dual and corporate generosity and kindness. The volume of your Christmas cards, the number of your personal and congregational gifts, the quantity of your heartfelt wishes--plus your amazingly generous "2nd mile" giving--allowed me to "bathe" in the light and the spirit of Christmas. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude! The mind and the heart of the babe of Bethlehem who grew up to become the Christ, your and my Savior, is alive and well in our congregation. To me that is truly Good News. I hope you agree. Best wishes for the remainder of the Christmas season and God's blessings for the New Year. In Christ, Pastor Hahn |
A Christmas Gift To Mt Hermon
In order to multiply the giving spirit of the season and to keep the work of God at Mt Hermon strong, a special Christmas matching gift was offered to our congregation. The matching gift amount is $3,650.00 (representing one dollar for each day of Pastor Hahn's ministry with Mt Hermon) and involved a "one to one" match for all gifts given in addition to and beyond regular weekly tithes and offerings.
Thank you Mt Hermon members and friends who made the extra effort to make a difference in keeping God's work active through your generosity.
As of December 30th, we have matched all $3,650.
Thank you for your support! | |

Teens Celebrate New Year's Eve Together on Dec 29th
Tuesday night 15 teens and several adults rang in the New Year together in Fellowship Hall with a cowboy theme, food, games, balloons, confetti, hats and noise makers. The night began with a Murder Mystery Game that had a surprising end and a lesson learned. After more games, food, ice cream sundaes, a movie, and long talks, the teens finally got some rest before the early 6:30 am rising to go home at 7 am. A good time was had by all. Thank you to Brian and Kristine Hopkins who orchestrated the night's events, to Pastor Hahn for his visit, and to Valerie Frank, Bonnie Walsh, Danny Garmon, and Linda Beauregard for their help.
P.S. One teen told me that "while others slept, he sneaked up to the sanctuary and spent an hour with God, just to see what it was like" - Wow! God is working in our youth! Photos to come. |
