Celebrate the season with Holidays on Ice
While you're celebrating the holidays, be sure to make it downtown to take part in a new Knoxville tradition - Holidays on Ice, the ice skating rink on Market Square.
The rink is open every day rain or shine with special themes each night. Enjoy skating with the Knoxville Ice Bears and Chilly on Mondays, see Patch the Penguin on Thursdays, and on Friday and Saturday, skate to disco lights and DJ music provided by Knox Vegas DJ.

Downtown rings in the New Year with First Night
More than 10,000 people from across East Tennessee and surrounding states will gather on New Year's Eve to celebrate the arts and ring in 2011 in downtown Knoxville with a family-friendly, alcohol-free community celebration of the arts.
Activities are held from 3 p.m. - midnight throughout downtown. Youngsters will enjoy the Imagination Library Children's Festival from 3-6:30 p.m., as well as an early kid's countdown and fireworks at 9 p.m. Musicians, artists, storytellers, dance groups, and more will provide entertainment at more than a dozen venues from 7-11:30 p.m.
