Join Us for Coffee & Conversation    
 
SEPTA is hosting a coffee at the Nautilus Diner - 9:00 am on Thursday, October 13th.  This is a wonderful opportunity for parents who have a child in any grade who learns differently or who has social or other needs, whether or not the child receives support services, to meet and share insights and ideas.  SEPTA members with lots of experience will be there. Mamaroneck School District : Section 504 
Wednesday, October 12, 2011;  7:30 p.m. to 9:00 pm; Tiered Classroom, Mamaroneck High School (Main Entrance - Post Rd. side)  

 

  • What are the mandated responsibilities of the school district?
  • Is my child eligible for 504 services or accommodations?
  • What services or accommodations are provided if my child is eligible under Section 504?

Mamaroneck School District & SEPTA Present:  Social Skills: The District Guide 

Tuesday, October 18th 7:30 pm.  Hommocks Library

In response to the district's initiative on Social Skills, parents will receive copies of the new Social Skills Parent Guide that has been organized and finalized by Alison Campbell and Leslie Goldschmid in collaboration with administrators and providers in the district. They, together with Dr. Minotti, will present the Guide and discuss the process for its development as well as review its content and answer any questions that arise.

 

This promises to be an exciting evening so we hope you will make every effort to attend.

It's 10:00PM; Have You Done Your Homework Yet? Tips, Tools and Techniques for Teaching Teens Time Management

 

School, homework, activities, jobs, friends...When students are in middle and high school their time is managed pretty well - by everyone other than themselves! In this workshop you will learn how to teach students how to become proficient at time and project management and to manage their day-to-day schedules using daily planners and technology. We will also discuss specific time management tools, techniques and strategies specifically geared to middle and high school students. Help your students get more motivated!

SEPTA is the District-wide PTA that supports children with differences, staff and parents from grades pre-K through grade 12.  Your membership and support enables us to provide informative speaker programs, parent programs, in-depth newsletters and grants to teachers and other staff that benefit children and help them succeed.
