Annual Review Survey Results
Over 80 parents completed a SEPTA survey about their  annual review CSE process. A large majority of responders  were satisfied with the outcome of their annual review CSE and  some asked for additional guidance in several areas.  The survey  yielded useful input for SEPTA and school district leaders.  We'll have more information about the results soon.

SEPTA Holds Welcome Back Breakfast
On September 16th, SEPTA held its annual Welcome Back Breakfast.  Parents and educators shared their visCeciila WBBions and areas of focus for the upcoming year.  Our School District leaders expressed commitment to enhancing instructional practices, expanding the co-teaching model, creating an assistive technology resource lab with enhanced evaluative tools and other efforts to benefit students.  SEPTA highlighted its programs and several areas of particular focus for the year: Social skills & success, dyslexia, AD/HD, assistive technology and academic intervention services. SEPTA is the District-wide PTA for all those who are Amy at WBBconnected to children who may learn differently or have special needs - whether students are classified to receive special education or not. This year SEPTA seeks to expand its membership and deepen our connections to members and other constituents. We extend a warm welcome to all  members and look forward to seeing you at upcoming events!

Academic Intervention Services  (AIS)
In June the school board adopted an Academic Intervention Services (AIS) plan explaining certain academic intervention services students may be eligible to receive to assist them in meeting state learning standards. AIS is available for students in either general education or special education who have failed to meet state or district learning standards or who are at risk of failing. Common standards for certain subject areas and entrance and AIS exit criteria are now established across grades and buildings.  Please go to Curriculum and Instruction and then click on AIS Plan to access the adopted plan. The Board of Education will be discussing the AIS plan at its upcoming Study Session on Tuesday, October 6th at 7:30 p.m. in the MHS library. The school board's study session will also be aired on LMC TV (Cablevision ch. 76 / Verizon ch. 35).
