Operations Centre - Official Opening
Operations CentreThe Town of Ajax officially opened the doors of its new Operations Centre on December 6. The state-of-the-art, 55,000 square foot building is home to the Town's Operations and Environmental Services staff. It is the first municipal Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) designed Operations Centre in Durham Region. St. Francis Centre's "Best Seat in the House

Best Seat in the HouseGive the gift of culture this year. The "Best Seat in the House" drive, gives people the opportunity to name a seat in the Main Hall of the St. Francis Centre. The $500 tax deductible seat purchase gives you a recognition plaque on the seat's arm rest. Summer Jobs Fair - December 18 and 29

Summer Jobs FairLooking for a great summer job? The Town is hosting summer job fairs for students seeking employment in 2011. A variety of positions are available with Recreation & Culture and Operations & Environmental Services. Job Fairs take place on December 18 at the Ajax Community Centre from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on December 29 at the McLean Community Centre from 2 to 7:30 p.m. Those interested in seasonal positions can bring a resume or fill out an application form at the job fair.

Are you the 'Biggest Winner'?The Town of Ajax Fitness and Health Centres are giving residents a chance to be the "Biggest Winner". The annual fitness challenge puts participants through a 12-week training program to improve weight management and lead a healthier lifestyle. Registration begins December 12 and can be completed at the Ajax or McLean community centres. New Year's Eve Family Party - December 31
New Year's Eve PartyRing in the New Year at the Town's annual New Year's Eve Family Party on December 31. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. at the Ajax Community Centre. The evening includes entertainment, ice skating, face painting, arts and crafts, and more. Noise makers and party favours will be handed out prior to the 9 p.m. countdown that wraps up the event.
