Direct Election of the Regional Chair

Regional Council will be holding a public meeting on April 21, 2010, 10 a.m. at Regional Headquarters (605 Rossland Rd. E., Whitby) to consider placing the following question on the October 25, 2010 municipal ballot:

"Are you in favour of the Council of the Regional Municipality of Durham passing the necessary resolutions and by-laws to change the method of selecting its Chair from appointment by the members of Regional Council to election by general vote of all electors in the Region."
 
If you would like to speak at this public meeting, you must register, in writing, to: Clerk's Office, P.M. Madill-Regional Clerk, email: clerks@durham.ca; fax: 905-668-9963, by noon on Thursday, April 15, 2010.
2010 Municipal Election - additional School Trustee for Ajax

Due to a slight shift in the Durham Catholic District School Board's electoral population, Ajax has been allocated an additional Trustee position to be elected in the 2010 Municipal Election. 
 
Nominations for the registration of all candidates are being accepted up until 2 p.m. on Friday, September 10.

The 2010 Ajax by Trail map is now available! The Ajax trail system is the envy of many municipalities. With more than 80 kilometres of trail to explore, the Town is quickly becoming the trail capital of Durham Region. And, there are plans for more.
