Small ODA BannerCome out tomorrow and watch Ajax residents Megan Arsenault, Craig Daynard, Ryan Fitzgerald, Felicity Martin, David Rousso, Breyan Sinnott, Cindy Williams and Bill Zolis carry a torch from the 2006 Winter Olympics. The mock torch relay is part of Olympic Day in Ajax. The 2010 Olympic Torch, bound for Vancouver, will make its way through Ajax on December 17. Town seeking input for Economic Development and Tourism Strategy 
 
The Town of Ajax is embarking on the development of a new Economic Development and Tourism Strategy for the community. The strategy will identify the priorities and strategic directions for the Town over the coming years by building on existing strengths and capitalizing on emerging opportunities in which to base our future economic growth and prosperity. As part of this effort, we would like to hear from you. Please take a moment to complete the online surveys. Your input and feedback is important to us.

Town receives funding for after school program
 
The Town will receive $70,000 for the delivery of an after school program at Bolton C. Falby Public School and Terry Fox Public School, set to commence in January 2010.

Boot drive raises over $6,700 Muscular Dystrophy Canada
 
Ajax Fire Cheque Presentation
On December 3, the Ajax Professional Fire Fighters Association presented a cheque to Muscular Dystrophy Canada for $6,743.00. Accepting the cheque on the foundation's behalf was 12-year-old Sydney Mills-Cooper, who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
 
The money was raised through a boot drive held throughout October.
 
Region launched new waste diversion program 
 
TiresThe Region of Durham has launched a new waste diversion initiative where residents can recycle their used tires at locations throughout the Region.
