Report says Provincial plan being ignored
 
Urban Sprawl
The Ontario Greenbelt Alliance has issued a report supporting the Town's position concerning the Region's Growing Durham Report. The report agrees that provincial guidelines are being ignored, threatening the Greenbelt with urban sprawl.

 
Ajax Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan Workshop
 
Bike ImageEvery day, Durham residents make 800,000+ car trips that are less than 6km. To look into ways at changing this, the Town will host a second Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan Workshop on October 6.
 
Register for the Town's annual waterfront half marathon
 
Run Ajax
Register today for Run Ajax, the Town's annual waterfront half marathon, being held on October 25. If you would like to volunteer, e-mail Patricia Hocking.
 
Rossland Road study complete
 
The Class Environmental Assessment for improvements to Rossland Road has been completed and is available for review. The implementation of the preferred design will take place from 2014 to 2017.  
Ajax youth invited to showcase their talents
 
Ajax on Stage
The Town will host its annual Youth Talent Showcase - Ajax on Stage - on November 21. The event is open to Ajax youth, ages 13 to 19. Entry forms are available online and at our community centres.
 
Fall program registration begins August 26 
 
The Town's Fall Community Recreation & Parks Guide hit the streets on August 12. Aquatics registration begins August 25, followed by general program registration on the 26th and walk-in registration on the 27th.
 
Lane restrictions along Hwy. 2
 
Road Work Sign
Road Rehabilitation has commenced along Durham Hwy. 2 (Kingston Road), from Audley Road to Wicks Drive. As a result, lane restrictions will be in effect until approximately September 17. 
Walk with Ajax to the 2010 Winter Olympics
 
Be a part of the Town's Pedometer Challenge. The challenge encourages residents to log their daily steps using a pedometer, and log enough steps to reach the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.
