Prayer
Gracious God, give us the strength and patience to follow you these 40 days of Lent.  Inspire us to be an inspiration to others, and renew our hearts with your Spirit.  And as we face temptation in the valleys of life, keep our hearts focused on you.  Help us to bear the crosses that have been laid upon our backs, but more importantly, help us to bear one another's burdens in love.

Dear Members & Friends of Trinity:

Today is Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of our 40-day journey with Christ to the cross.  Luckily, we do not have to bear what he has born in our place - but we are invited to make the journey in our remembrance of Christ's sacrifice.

Many people "give something up" for Lent as a way to symbolically (and yet powerfully) remember all that Christ gave up for the sake of those he loved - us!  Others will choose to "add something" to their lives as a new discipline and commitment.

I am giving up all food following dinner, and I am adding one-and-a-half hours of exercise to my daily schedule.  Please pray for me!
I will certainly pray for you, as we journey to the cross together... perhaps this is the best definition of the Church!

Christ's Peace & Strength to you!
Pastor Rick Stieve.

Thought
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

- Matt 5:3-9

Lenten Worship Schedule
After today, and for the next 5 weeks, Trinity will offer meals and worship each Wednesday.  Worship is offered at 11:30 AM each Wednesday during Lent, followed by a catered Lunch.  Each Wednesday evening, Dinner is served at 6:15 PM, followed by worship from 7-7:30.
Please sign up for the meals on Sundays, or call the church office to make a reservation... and if you forget, come anyway!  (It's all grace).

A First Communion Class is also offered (beginning next Wednesday) from 5:30-6:15 PM - for all 2nd-Graders and up.  Classes will continue during the 5 Wednesdays of Lent.  The young people are invited to meet with Pastor Rick for a class that seeks to strengthen their understanding of Holy Communion.  *A parent is asked to attend the class with their children (or a grandparent!).

Call if you have any questions!

Christ's love and strength to you this Lenten season!
