Film of the Month:
Star Trek: The Motion Picture-Director's Cut
Sat Yoga Movie Night: Star Trek: The Motion Picture-Director's Cut

Star Trek answers the question, can a movie be dull, insipid, and pointless, yet simultaneously profound, moving, and fearless in its critique of the human condition? This extraordinary film does both. It pursues the truth of human nature, reaching the innermost depths of the ego's organizing principle, and the relentless drive of the spirit to attain liberation, as well as pinpointing the awesome power of the inner censor to resist, deny, and misappropriate the divine light of the Self.

The Perils of a Paradigm Shift

In the face of new facts and unmistakable patterns that refute one's paradigm of reality, the egoic mind tends to fall into one of four errors in judgment. These must be avoided if one is to achieve a paradigm shift that will enable the overcoming of the challenges to existence that may otherwise overwhelm one's poorly deployed resources. This is an understanding relevant to every level of life.

The first and most common error is to jump to reflex negation, in the form of cynicism and ridicule of the alternative paradigm. Because the new idea does not make sense in terms of the old criteria, it must be ipso facto wrong. There is a refusal to consider, to weigh, to digest the new information, because it threatens the old certainties, the ego's pseudo-mastery, the long-established practices and comfortable ways of thinking and acting that were justified by the old paradigm. It takes great courage to think anew, to re-evaluate, to start over and humbly recognize that the Real has always been unknown.

Announcement from Maia and Sahayak

Anyone who was at the samjjana sound spa on the 21st who would like to offer a brief line or two of text about their experience, we would love to receive it. We feel it is a bit difficult to explain what we do to people who haven't experienced it, and it can help people to get some insight by reading of others' experiences. We'd really appreciate having the opportunity to add such comments to our website and/or promotional material to better encapsulate what the experience is for participants. All contributions welcome m@inspirationunlimited.com.au

Blessings,
Maya and Sahayak
