Meet Our CEO & Staff
Kjell Bergh, owner and CEO of Borton Overseas, is a man of many talents. He is a businessman, travel expert, writer, Consul and community activist. First arriving in the United States in 1965, as a freelance journalist from Kristiansund, Norway, Kjell attended Macalester College on a Readers Digest Scholarship and worked as a sales representative at Borton Volvo in Minneapolis.
He worked his way up to become General Manager and purchased Borton Volvo in 1970. Kjell also started Borton Overseas that same year, and in 1975 purchased Vanstrum Travel. Founded in 1894 as Sunden, Vanstrum, and Company specializing in steamship travel for the new wave of immigrants coming from Scandinavia to the U.S., Vanstrum was merged into Borton Overseas, a highly respected travel company you see today specializing in Africa, Scandinavia and Worldwide Cruises.
The most valuable asset to Borton Overseas is our staff. Our Travel Specialists use their own heritage, travel experiences and education to create an amazing travel experience for you. We are personally involved with every step of your booking; from helping you choose the best destination for your personal interests, to getting you back home from your adventure.
