managing change in english language teaching

The British Council will launch its global English publication Managing Change in English Language Teachingin the week of 21-26 May 2012 in Delhi, Chennai, Patna and Chandigarh. The launch will be followed by a panel discussion on the topic "From theory to practice: Can English language project interventions lead to measurable change for all stakeholders?" Edited by Dr Christopher Tribbleof King's College London, the book documents 21 case studies of English language project interventions from all over the world, including two from India.

 

Tec 12 - 2nd international teacher educator conference

The 2nd International English Language Teacher Educator Conference (TEC 12) held from 3 to 5 March 2012  in Hyderabad organised by British Council India and English and Foreign Languages University (EFL-U), was attended by over 1000 delegates from India and all over the world. Read more about the conference here or join us facebook ortwitter . Jobseekers - a unique approach to mobile learning

Jobseekers is a product with a unique approach to mobile learning which aims to help subscribers develop their English language abilities and skills related to employability. This product created by British Council and Avon Mobility Solutions, is available exclusively for Tata DOCOMO users via their educational platform Tutor On Mobile (TOM). Tata DOCOMO users can access the content at a cost of only Re 1 per day by sending an SMS SEEK to 5333300. Get to know more about this product from our  website.

Gap-fill generator 

We are pleased to announce a new addition to our Tools for Teachers on TeachingEnglish. It is a gap-fill generator which you can use for your classes. Enter a keyword, choose a level and a text from sources such as the Guardian, create your worksheets, and print them!  

 

Skills lesson

If your students come to class plugged in, with earphones in and listening to the latest (or not) tunes you'll have an easy start to this lesson. Chris Trickett describes a skills lesson to get the learners talking about music. You might want to use background music where facilities allow. Tune in!
