In These Troubled Times
Everyone would certainly have to admit that there is a lot of trouble in
the material world these days. We are exposed to so much negative
information coming in from many different sources. The
internet certainly not being the least source of this negative information.
We hear about things so quickly. We hear about things happening
around the world just moments after they happen. We are just exposed to
a lot of negative things. Sometimes I get down with life and don't know
where to turn. I suspect we all have these times.
But I want to proclaim to you that our God is always there to help us
along. No matter what we are dealing with He is always there. As Mr.
Bill Green says "there is not anything that God and I can't do."
I would like to read just a few of the passages in God's
word where we can go for reassurance when we feel the weight of the
world closing in on us. But the salvation of the righteous
is of the Lord; he is their strength in the time of trouble. Psalm 37:39,
The Lord is good; a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth
them that trust in him. Nahum 1:7, and He shall deliver thee in six
troubles; yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee, Job 5:19.
Sometimes when I go hunting it helps me clear my mind and get the
right perspective on things. There is nothing like being outdoors.
Looking. Listening. Just being there. It helps renew the body and soul.
I should know that I am never there or anywhere alone. God is always
there wherever I go to help me in any circumstance I may find myself
involved in. Certainly we will have trials and tribulations. We will have
challenges and difficulties. We will have remorse and heartache. But we
should always turn to our God the Father to help us during these times.
My hope is that we will always remember the following passage: These
things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the
world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome
the world. John 16:33. Amen!
Hunting Tip:
Dry feet are warm feet. If your boots cause your feet to perspire, that
may cause your feet to get cold. Take along an extra pair of dry socks to
change at mid day.
