Yesterday morning I was witness to the "power of prayer." I received a call early yesterday from my step mother letting me know that my dad was in the emergency room in his local hospital. It was a shock, here was the man who I have always called on for help, helpless and in need. I readied myself and met them in Savannah at a regional hospital better equipment to take care of him.

Upon arriving I met with my stepmother and we finally found the CCU where my dad was taken. After some time, we were allowed to go back to his room and after a few minutes we met the cardiologist that was taking care of my father. We were told that that his heart was racing with the top half and bottom half out of sink and eventually if we didn't do something it would stop again.

We were given a few options and were lead towards electroshock treatment to resink his heart rhythm. The cardiologist explained to us that it was common practice to put his heart back into rhythm. By this time, my dad was in pain and the hepriron that he was on wasn't working fast enough. So we all decided that it was necessary. They doctor then explained that he had two options, be put to sleep for it or remain awake. He gave us the possible scenarios and left for a few minutes. We talked about them and then when the doctor came back in my dad decided to be put to sleep for the procedure.  Within a few minutes the doctor came in with the crash cart and asked my stepmother and I to leave.  What happened next reaffirms my faith in god and in prayer.Standing there getting prepared to leave the CCU room, my dad reached out for my step mother and me and said, "lets pray." As I sat there and listened to his prayer, I felt at peace, knowing this is ok and this too shall pass with faith............... And it did. He's not out of the woods yet, but he's out of the hospital tonight and scheduled to meet a cardiologist this week for a treatment plan.  "'Have faith in God,' Jesus answered. 'I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, "Go, throw yourself into the sea," and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins'" (Mark 11:22-25).South Dakota, remember, it's ok to road hunt, just be careful when there is more than one person on the back of the truck with you and don't load your shotguns, until you are standing on solid ground.

Thanks
