Thanks to our sponsor Karen Cantwell, author of the indescribably delicious Barbara Marr mystery TAKE THE MONKEYS AND RUN
Less Than 24 Hours to Enter! Starting This Week, We're Giving Away10 Kindle Fire Units Between Now and Dec. 25!
It's true. Regular readers of Kindle Nation know that we've already given away a bunch of Kindles this year. And back in June we held the first Kindle Fire Sweepstakes in recorded history -- we didn't know what it would be called, and we didn't know how much it would cost, but we held a Kindle Fire Sweepstakes and thousands of you came. Linda Ronne of Colorado was our winner, and she'll be one of the first people to receive a Kindle Fire, directly from Amazon, on November 16.
We've been having so much fun that we have invited authors to join us in sponsoring more Kindle Fire give-away sweepstakes, and some of our favorite Kindle authors have stepped up already. So, starting this week, on our Kindle Nation Daily Facebook page, we will hold a Kindle Fire Sweepstakes every week from now through the holidays! That's $2,000 worth of Kindle Fires that we will be unleashing -- please don't call the fire department on us!
There's no purchase required, of course, but it is a great way for some of our author-sponsors to get exposure, so we hope you will give some real consideration to buying their books each week when you enter the contest.
The one thing you will have to do to enter is to go over to our Kindle Nation Daily Facebook page, "Like" the page, and fill out the Sweepstakes entry form (you'll see a link to it in the left sidebar when the Sweepstakes goes live).
And just in case you are wondering why we run the Sweepstakes through our Facebook page, there are two very good reasons:
- First, it allows us to make use of a very professional but affordable third-party service that administers our Sweepstakes according to best practices and maintains full confidentiality for all information provided by participants; and
- Second, it helps us to build our connection with you, our readers, through Facebook, which is the quickest, least expensive, and least intrusive way for us to let you know about Kindle-related news and bargains.
10 Brand New Kindle Fires! Here's hoping that we will be sending one to you!
And we'll just chalk this up to the luck of the calendar, but it is worth noting here that if you happen to buy a brand new Kindle Fire while you are waiting to win a free unit through our Sweepstakes, you'll have a sweet choice between giving the extra unit to someone you love or returning it to Amazon for a full refund, either directly or through Kindle Nation!
... and multiply your good fortune with good karma now by downloading Sweepstakes sponsor Karen Cantwell's novel TAKE THE MONKEYS AND RUN now for just $2.99 on Kindle ...

Bringing Great Reading to Kids Around the World, With Your Help:
(Editor's Note: Regular readers of Kindle Nation already know that we are big fans of the folks at WorldReader.org, and of their mission. ClicK here to see some of our past coverage, or here for some truly inspiritng video footage of their efforts in action, or just keep reading for the latest news about a very creative collaboration between Worldreader.org and a major children's book publisher! -S.W.)
Meet Worldreader's New Friends:
Charlie, James, and Matilda
By Worldreader.org It's official. Roald Dahl's well-loved books and classic children's tales-Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-are now part of the Worldreader collection and will be available to our kids. We've worked with Puffin, a division of Penguin Children's Books in the U.K., to get these titles donated, giving Worldreader's children and teachers free access to them. We're thrilled to have Puffin join us in cultivating a culture of reading in the developing world. We can't think of a better way get to kids to keep flipping virtual ink and fall into a good book.
Our director of digital publishing, Elizabeth Wood, announced the news today while charming publishing executives and book lovers at the Tools of Change Frankfurt Conference 2011. What a perfect addition to her speech about the work we're doing in Africa! "This is a huge win for the children in our programs. Dahl's wicked sense of humor has delighted children-and adults-in the developed world for more than 50 years," she said. "Now, children in the developing world will have the opportunity to meet Matilda, Augustus Gloop, the evil Aunties Spiker and Sponge, and all of the other wonderful characters from Dahl's beloved classics. This is the caliber of books we want to offer the children in our programs. We encourage other publishers to follow suit. Ask yourself what books would turn reluctant readers into avid readers? Those are the books we want." David Risher, Worldreader's president and co-founder, went over the moon when he found out (Figuratively, of course...he was in Ghana doing a celebratory dance while visiting the schools). "No other author has inspired so many children to read. We're thrilled to help introduce Charlie, James, Matilda, and the rest of Roald Dahl's characters to a new group of children who have big dreams but, until recently, have had not had access to books," said David. "Winning the support of publishers like Puffin strengthens our commitment to reach one million children by 2015." Francesca Dow, managing director of Penguin Children's Books, added, "Puffin is delighted to be working with Worldreader to give children in Africa free access to Roald Dahl books through the Worldreader programme. Roald Dahl books are already available in 34 languages, and this is a great opportunity for his stories to reach even even more widely to children around the world." Britain's Roald Dahl (1916-1990) was a best-selling novelist, short story writer, and screenwriter. He has created a lifetime of memories for many young readers and adults alike, and continues to do so. He once said, "I have a passion for teaching kids to become readers, to become comfortable with a book, not daunted. Books shouldn't be daunting, they should be funny, exciting and wonderful; and learning to be a reader gives a terrific advantage." With that, it seems only right to give a big Web shout-out to the Dahl Estate and David Higham Associates for their support in this project and for making reading even more wonderful. That's our hat tipping in your direction. These books complement our growing library of international and African titles available for free to students in our program. Check out the books Worldreader's kids already have on their e-readers. And more generally, it's another enormous step towards providing books for all kids in the developing world.

by MJ Rose
Kindle Price: $1.99"Jack Reacher, John Rain and Cotton Malone, on the sex therapist's couch. Testosterone therapy as high art. What could be better? One of the most original and well-done series of stories I've ever read. M.J. Rose has blasted this baby to the ozone. I don't care if you download it or listen to it. just get it." - NYT Bestseller, David Baldacci
"I bet M.J. Rose she couldn't get Jack Reacher into Morgan Snow's office. I lost. Find out how." - NYT Bestseller, Lee Child
"Seeing another side of Cotton Malone, written from another writer's perspective, was eye opening. Needless to say, the subject matter is not something Cotton normally deals with, but M.J. made sure he handled it with his usual smooth, Southern style. I enjoyed the adventure. You will too." - NYT Bestseller, Steve Berry
"When John Rain considers taking on Dr. Morgan Snow as a client, the danger isn't winding up in a coffin -- it's winding up on the couch. But I made him take the risk anyway, and it was a blast!" - NYT Bestseller, Barry Eisler
"Only Dr Morgan Snow (aka MJ Rose) could persuade three of thriller fiction's most charismatic heroes to sit on a sex therapist's couch. The eyebrow-raising results will astonish you - and help raise money for David Baldacci's Wish You Well Foundation." - International Bestseller, David Hewson
Product DescriptionIN SESSION from international bestseller M.J. Rose, features the return of Dr. Morgan Snow, in a brand-new story collection!
As a therapist specializing in sexual issues, psychiatrist Dr. Morgan Snow isn't easily shocked, or shaken, as readers of the popular "Butterfield Institute" novels know. There are times, however, when the need for her services leads her out of the office... and into unfamiliar worlds.
In these stories the therapist matches her wits -and her training - against three men of mystery: Jack Reacher, John Rain, and Cotton Malone.
Those characters are, of course, familiar to readers as the creations, respectively, of NYT bestselling authors Lee Child, Barry Eisler, and Steve Berry.
All three swore that their characters would never agree to therapy - unless Rose found a way to get then there. And she did.
In EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES with Steve Berry's Cotton Malone, a woman seeks help for her lover, and sends Dr. Snow overseas on a most unusual house call....
DECISIONS, DECISIONS where Barry Eisler's John Rain forces Dr. Snow out of her own comfort zone, and into the world of a former patient's worst nightmare...
And KNOWING YOU'RE ALIVE with Lee Child's Jack Reacher results in revelations for both the injured Dr. Snow, and her unexpected savior/patient...
All the proceeds of the audio book and a share of the proceeds of the ebook will be donated to David Baldacci's Wish You Well Foundation, supporting family literacy. (wishyouwellfoundation.org/)
These characters are the creations, respectively, of NYT bestselling authors Lee Child, Barry Eisler, and Steve Berry, and are used with their full knowledge and participation. (This is a sponsored post.)

New Kindle Personal Documents Features: Archive and Whispersync
We are pleased to let you know about some improvements we've made to how the Kindle Personal Documents Service works on Kindle.
* Your documents are now automatically archived in your Kindle library (you can control this at Manage Your Kindle). * Archived documents can be re-downloaded from your archive to the all-new Kindle and Kindle Touch devices, as well as Kindle Keyboard (Kindle 3rd Generation--requires the latest software update v3.3) - you will be able to find and download your documents from any of these devices that are registered to your account. * Now (just as with Kindle books) Whispersync automatically synchronizes your last page read, bookmarks and annotations for your documents (with the exception of PDFs) across devices.
We expect to extend these features to Kindle Fire and Kindle apps (such as Kindle Cloud Reader, Kindle for Android, Kindle for iPhone, Kindle for PC, and Kindle for Mac) in the coming months.
You can control these new features from Manage Your Kindle where you can see a list of your archived documents, re-deliver documents to your Kindle, delete any document from archive, or even turn off archiving for your account.
You can learn more about Kindle Personal Documents Service from our help pages.
Sounds great? Well, check out Bufo Calvin's post here for another point of view.

Here's the set-up:
With THE LOOK OF LOVE bestselling author Bella Andre introduces you to a fun and emotional contemporary romance series about the Sullivan family. Because when a Sullivan bad boy falls...he falls hard. And it's forever.
Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her cheek can attest to that. And when her car skids off the side of a wet country road straight into a ditch, she's convinced even the gorgeous guy who rescues her in the middle of the rain storm must be too good to be true. Or is he? As a successful photographer who frequently travels around the world, Chase Sullivan has his pick of beautiful women, and whenever he's home in San Francisco, one of his seven siblings is usually up for causing a little fun trouble. Chase thinks his life is great just as it is-until the night he finds Chloe and her totaled car on the side of the road in Napa Valley. Not only has he never met anyone so lovely, both inside and out, but he quickly realizes she has much bigger problems than her damaged car. Soon, he is willing to move mountains to love-and protect-her, but will she let him?
Chloe vows never to make the mistake of trusting a man again. Only, with every loving look Chase gives her-and every sinfully sweet caress-as the attraction between them sparks and sizzles, she can't help but wonder if she's met the only exception. And although Chase didn't realize his life was going to change forever in an instant, amazingly, he isn't the least bit interested in fighting that change. Instead, he's gearing up for a different fight altogether...for Chloe's heart.

70 New Freebies Since Last Week! But first ... a word from This Week's Sponsor! Seeming outcast Shamira is on a mission in L.M. Preston's THE PACK (This Week's Sponsor, $3.99) "THE PACK is a great sci-fi novel with a strong and fearless female main character. Shamira is a unique character, which makes her story intriguing from the beginning.... Those who love dystopian fiction will also be drawn to the conspiratorial nature of a society spinning out of control and a corrupt authority. "
TeensReadToo
by L. M. Preston
4.1 stars - 15 Reviews
Text-to-Speech and Lending: Enabled
Here's the set-up: Shamira is considered an outcast by most, but little do they know that she is on a mission. Kids on Mars are disappearing, but Shamira decides to use the criminals most unlikely weapons against them the very kids of which they have captured. In order to succeed, she is forced to trust another, something she is afraid to do. However, Valens, her connection to the underworld of her enemy, proves to be a useful ally. Time is slipping, and so is her control on the power that resides within her. But in order to save her brother's life, she is willing to risk it all.
One Reviewer Notes: "Take a hefty dose of action and adventure with a feisty heroine who is blind, but also has unusual powers. Add a touch of romance. Stir in missing kids. Season with the exotic planet of Mars. And what do you have? A must read novel, of course. Author L. M. Preston's novel for young adults, The Pack, contains all of these ingredients and more.
Because she's blind, most people believe sixteen-year-old Shamira is helpless. Little do they know the powers burning inside her that she barely can control.... The Pack is a story about family, bravery, and overcoming evil."
Each week's list is sponsored by one paid title. We encourage you to support our sponsors and thank you for considering them.
