We hope that this email Newsletter will help keep our friends and customers up to date on Hermanns happenings with periodic emails. 2008 was an exciting year for Hermanns. Our company received recognition on two fronts which will be highlighted below. Along with our contracting division successes we also completed some exciting Blower Truck projects.

CAT Article
Leading the Green Wave
 GroundBreaker magazine is published twice a year and distributed throughout Canada and the United States to a large group of end users of Caterpillar equipment.
Caterpillar is a Fortune 500 company and the CAT name is recognizable world wide wherever earthworks are being done.
In the Fall/Winter 2008 issue Hermanns Contracting Limited appeared on the cover and was the subject of one of the feature articles of interest as a user of a variety of Caterpillar equipment in the day to day operations of our business.
This article recognizes our commitment to the environment as our policies and processes that are eco-sensitive are frequently mentioned.
We are pleased to be a customer of Toromont, CAT our local Caterpillar dealer and applaud Caterpillar in their recognition of Hermanns as leaders in the environmental movement.

2008 City of Vaughan Urban Design Awards
Last fall we were asked to attend the 2008 City of Vaughan's Urban Design Awards presentation.
It was an exciting event that showcased urban design architecture, landscape architecture and environmental stewardship.
We were very pleased to be the landscape construction company that was part of the teams for two of the projects that won an Environmental Green Award of Excellence (Vellore Park SWM Facility) and and Environmental Green Award of Merit (Dreamwood Subdivision Neighbourhood).
These awards confirm the continuing commitment that Hermanns Contracting Limited has to contributing to environmental sustainability.

Green Roof Technology 
In 2008 Hermanns completed a number of Green Roof projects. The installation of Green Roofs is becoming very popular in many cities with new construction as well as older buildings considering this option. Green Roofs were completed in Guelph, Ottawa and in Toronto (Science Center and DUCA Financial) in 2008. Hermanns anticipates completing a number of Green Roof projects in the coming year.
