Sabrina BoundThank You
Thank you to everyone who helped make the world premiere of Bound such a success! Whether you were able to attend a performance, donate on Kickstarter, or follow us on Facebook, we could not have achieved our most ambitious project to date without your help. Created through a year-long collaboration between thirteen artists spanning continents, languages, and artistic disciplines, the culminating performances of Bound marked an exciting new phase in the development of Yaa Samar! Dance Theatre as a leading creator of contemporary dance theatre.

"Bound is more complex than simply a critique of walls. Boundaries may be constraints, but they can also be opportunities"

Kinetic Cinema is a screening series of Pentacle's Movement Media, in which different guest artists are invited to share films and videos that have inspired their work in dance and media. Next month Kinetic Cinema will be curated by Yaa Samar! Dance Theatre at the Center for Remembering and Sharing (CRS). In October the company premiered their latest performance project, Bound, examining the lives of nine individuals living under occupation; here they will discuss their unique working technique with Samar Haddad King live on Skype during her temporary relocation to Palestine, alongside company members Kathryn Baer Schetlick and Zoe Rabinowitz. Together they will present a curated selection of videos related to Bound including footage from the creation process and source films from which they drew their inspiration.
