Is Spring here or not?

It's supposed to be Spring, but the temperatures  here in Chicago and the snow over the weekend sure doesn't make it feel like Spring.

Hopefully everyone is enjoying a little Spring Break with their families.  We are off to visit some colleges for my son.  How do they grow up so quickly!

Don't forget if you are in the market for any Hunter Douglas products, they are offering rebates on their most popular products through April 30th.  Click here for more information .  Don't miss out on these great rebates.  Orderes must be placed before April 30, 2009.

My decorating tips in this issue are sure to spruce your home up for Spring.
Until next time....

Regards,

A Little Spring in Your Home = A Spring in Your Step

Ready for Spring?  Here are some easy ways to add springtime life to your home:

*Start at the front door.  Replace your winter wreath with a twiggy wreath with spring flowers and gauzy ribbon.  If it's warm enough, plant an urn or large pot with flowers and trailing ivy.

*Remove those logs and fill your fireplace with silk greenery and colorful candles for a spring look.

*Go for spring colors and lighter textiles.  Trade a heavy bedspread for a colorful duvet and a collection of pastel pillows.  Trade chenille or tapestry window treatments for silk or faux silk in your more elegant spaces, and linen or a cotton print in your more casual ones.

*Decorate the mantle with springtime accessories - green magnolia plates, a ceramic bunny, a vase of fresh flowers, or a hurricane jar of lemons and limes.

*Switch from heavy "winter" scents like mulberry, pumpkin pie, and vanilla to lighter ones like citrus, freesia, or gardenia.  Collect candles around the home to add these outdoor scents, and open your windows to let in the breeze.

*Turn furniture so that it takes advantage of the views outside.

*Pull up heavy rugs and expose wood floors, or trade these rugs for sisal or seagrass.

Have fun making some simple changes and welcome in Spring!
