| Meditation tip: Spring energy. . . | |
One of the practices of the meditation tradition is to immerse yourself in the changes in the seasons - to really feel part of nature. As with all meditation, it involves opening up to our senses and coming out of our thoughts, and Spring is the perfect time to do this - nature is opening up to us!
Here are some ways to make the most of the season...
- When you wake up, go outside and breathe in the morning air. Feel its freshness and coolness, notice the array of smells in the air. Tune in to the sounds of nature and birds around you.
- Stand in the early morning or late afternoon sun and feel the warmth on your skin. Notice how your body responds. Shed those layers of winter woollies!
- Make some time to go for a walk in nature and spend some time taking in all the new life and growth. If it's somewhere you go regularly, notice how much things have changed since you were last there. It's amazing where all that growth comes from when you start to pay attention.
Let yourself feel the revitalising forces of nature and join in the party!

The Body Electric
- article by Graham Williams | |
"I sing the body electric" wrote Walt Whitman, the American poet, in his Leaves of Grass. This wonderful phrase fascinated me when I read it in my late teens and it had such an impact I never forgot it. But I had no idea what Whitman meant by it. It struck a chord deep inside me and was one of the influences guiding me to where I am today... read the full article on our website
The infinite nature of our minds dwells in the finite nature of our bodies and the incredible bliss we are capable of feeling is the marriage between these two - the interface where the spacious openness of our awareness touches the finite form of our body.

Explore the deeper states of meditation
Level 2 from Mon 15 Oct |
If you've completed our Learn to Meditate course and want to go further then sign up for our next Level 2 course - deepening stages of meditation.
In deep meditation you may sometimes have strong inner experiences of light, colour or even picking up deep intuitions. At other times you may experience such a profound stillness and feeling of space that you don't want to move at all. In this term you can find out how these deeper experiences fit into the meditation palette, as well as the lighter states that your can sustain in every day life. We'll also look at what happens when things go pear shaped - you don't need to reject pears altogether, just find out how to work them better. Click here to view all dates and times

| Last chance to retreat for 2012! |
Retreats are a wonderful opportunity to get some space for yourself, and get some perspective on what's been happening in your life. Enjoy a break from normal pressures, relax deeply, and return home with your outlook refreshed. In all retreats you will learn a range of short 'spot' and longer meditations, and be guided through deep relaxations and gentle yoga. The food is wonderful too!
