Meditation tip: winter recharge

Winter is a natural time to turn inwards and rest; to recharge your energy from the earth and from within. We can use this time to take moments to nurture ourselves...

winter warmth

Every time you feel the cold, can you feel the crispness and aliveness on your cheeks? You could try listening to the sound of the rain or smelling the freshness of the air once a shower has passed. If you are feeling flat, try curling up next to a heater or fire with your favourite soothing music. Even if its just for five minutes, can you be be gentle with yourself and enjoy a short recharge?

For an added bit of motivation, you might like to view this short talk by Dr Mark Williams of the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, on the importance and benefits of being present with whatever you are doing...

Joy = beauty + surprise

Life's a bit like a moving train - once you're on you can't get off so you may as well enjoy the ride! If you do you just might get some nice surprises...

Retreat

The colder months can be a perfect time to let ourselves rest a little - a mini-hibernation if you like! There's still one place remaining for our 7-day retreat in July, or else book early for a discount on weekend retreats in August and September or beyond...

jumping in puddlesJumping in puddles - the joy of being - one place left

How long has it been since you've felt an abundance of joy, a sense of overflowing with life? Our 7-day retreat provides the ideal conditions to rediscover your natural, joyful state. During the retreat there is time for deep rest and recovery...

Letting go retreat
Letting go, coming home - 24-26 Aug

This retreat will draw on the wisdom of the meditation tradition - once you have achieved, created or done, then the path to contentment comes through letting go. Instead of fruitlessly chasing more, let your mind return home, returning to balance and joy...

Other retreats coming up
Music as meditation - 14-16 Sep
Joy of being - 26-28 Oct
Opening fully to life - the creative act of being - 16-18 Nov

What happens on a Lifeflow retreat? Retreats are a wonderful opportunity to get some space for yourself, and get some perspective on what's been happening in your life. Enjoy a break from normal pressures, relax deeply and return home with your outlook refreshed. In all retreats you will learn a range of short 'spot' and longer meditations and be guided through deep relaxations and gentle stretch and breathe sessions. The food is wonderful too!
