Meditation tip - supermarket checkout queue

We've all been there - waiting at the checkout queue, tapping your fingers, glaring at the person in front... rush rush, got to get on to something more important. Yet supermarkets are dedicated to speed - so many products you can get in the one store, so easy, so quick. Not quick enough!

We tend to believe that what we've got to do next is going to be more productive, more satisfying. Sure, some things are more fun or enriching than others, but will spending our time now cultivating an impatient anxious quality really make the future better?
 
  
  

Try a spot meditation instead - following your breath, contact points, or just smiling to the checkout operator; can you come back to your senses? Reframe the wait at the checkout - here are five minutes in which you don't have to do anything!

We talk a lot in Lifeflow classes about 'finding the beach' - a quiet, calm place where you can relax. Well, now we're teaching there! Term 2 sees a new
Learn to Meditate course based at Victor Harbor, taught by teacher and south coast resident Ian Nuberg. We're hoping to give folks down that way a chance to enjoy the benefits of meditation.

refreshWell, not quite - but the news is that our Refresh and Restore classes are now running all year round. So drop in for an hour and let us help you put some juice in your tank. No theory, just a chance to deeply relax and recharge your energies for the week ahead.

From my experience everyone who leaves the class on Tuesday is glowing and saying how relaxed they feel. It doesn't matter whether they are new or in Level 4.

Have a getaway with Lifeflow

What makes a good weekend for you? A bit of telly, a few drinks with your friends, some quality time with your partner or kids? Every now and then though - there's a chance to try something different. On a Lifeflow retreat, for 2 or 3 nights you can have the chance to rest more deeply than you may have thought possible, and come out with a genuine, relaxed but fresh spark of life. It's something you have to experience to believe... :)
