| Meditation tip - allow some time. . . |
|
Have you ever experienced this? You are walking on the beach and you notice that your head is still full of thoughts even after ten minutes? Maybe you've been sitting doing a breathing meditation and noticed the same thing? And then the worries: 'Have I failed at meditation? Am I going to get kicked out of Lifeflow classes?'. Don't worry, you are not alone. If you've been very busy, with deadlines, projects or family commitments, then you'll find that quite naturally your mind is very speedy. Speedy isn't bad or wrong, it's just speedy! Great for getting things done, not so good when you want to relax. Sometimes you just need to allow some time. It's as simple as that. Find something that you like that relaxes your body - walking, having a cup of tea, massaging your shoulders - and each time you rush into thoughts, gently come back to your body's immediate experience. Sometimes it takes a while for your mind to settle. This is natural. Just allow the space for it to happen. |
