Meditation is not about just sitting still! Life is full of changes and meditation is a powerful tool for riding these changes skilfully. A time of change or transition is the time when you can make clear decisions about what direction you wish to take. From the small moments during the day when you decide what to do next, to the decisions which affect your whole life, meditation acts as the surfboard to rest on so that you can catch the moment of change. Joy of Being - 30 Oct-1 Nov Without realising it, we often look outside of ourselves to the people and situations around us in order to feel good. During this weekend we'll explore exercises that can be used to nurture and sustain ourselves emotionally and rekindle an easily forgotten feeling: joy. Did you know: retreats are great if you cannot make our weekly classes. Also, many people completely new to meditation have started with a retreat. If you are already attending our classes, retreats provide the ideal setting to go deeper with your meditation too. They all include a range spot and longer meditations, as well as deep relaxation and gentle yoga. |

Members' seminar at Tara HillsWaves, Currents and Tantra: a revision of the 4-step meditation technique If you have attended any Lifeflow courses or retreats you would have come across the 4-step meditation technique: relax your body; focus your mind... etc. But are there some missing steps? With a few key additions, this technique can link into working with emotions and energies. This is particularly helpful when your meditation is going pear-shaped. Pear-shaped meditations have an important place in life! Come to this talk and find out why. | Winter meditation tip: rain |
|
Remember once when we cursed if it rained? Here are some tips for enjoying the rain:
- Can u feel it? Take a moment to actually feel the sensation of rain on your skin. Particularly nice with light misty rain, but if you are young at heart you can enjoy the thumping downpours too.
- The sound is all around: Listen to the rain, just as sound. Hear it plinking on the window panes, clicking on tin rooves and sloshing on the ground. Pick up some auditory cues for when you are next doing the washing meditation.
- Looking through sunshine: always a favourite - every now and then you get a chance to see a fine misty rain with the sun shining behind it - a truly beautiful sight.

Coady Green - posterRecital program detailsTue 25 Aug, 7 pm Adelaide Town Hall Tickets $25, bookings via BASS 131 246 or www.bass.net.auCoady Green came to me as a student when he was 14. When I first met him I knew that he was going to be both a friend and a brilliant pianist, and both have turned out to be true. After studying for several years in London, where he now lives and works, he is returning this August to give his first Adelaide recital. This is a chance to hear this brilliant young pianist right at the beginning of his career. His playing is both exquisitely tender and incredibly powerful, full of colour and fire. An opportunity not to be missed!
