| Guides training courses starts 21 Feb |
Would you like to learn to share the skill of meditation with others? Following on from the the inaugural guides training program conducted for Southern Adelaide Health Services, this course is designed for people who would like to use the tool of meditation as an adjunct for their work (eg health professionals, social workers, teachers). The course builds on the theory and meditation practice taught in our Learn to Meditate course (which is prerequisite for the Guides training). It gives you the skills and knowledge needed to lead others through short meditations. The course is conducted by Ann Calvert and Graham Williams, on Saturday mornings, over six weeks. Some places are still available. Participants from the first guides training course have said: '...the course was taught in a ...wonderful and inspiring way. I have so many ideas about how to use [meditation] with clients... but most importantly, it is already a valuable tool for use in my own life.' '...fantastic course - thank you'. Find out more... |

| Article: Open and aware - our feminine side |
Do you remember times as a child when you were watching something, or just listening, completely absorbed, and were quite happy to be still? You were meditating - it is something we could all do naturally and easily as children; we just didn't know what we were doing.

| At the beach - informal meditation |
Get a bit more out of your next visit to the beach - use it as an informal meditation! Try these pointers:
- Get there early, get there late: catch the magic of the beach at dawn, the soft light, the gentle calm. Or, arrive just before sunset - catch the warmth and rich colours of the sunset
- Take your shoes off! Feel the sand under your feet; feel your body touching the earth; awaken your feet!
- Listening to the sound right through you: practise opening to the sounds and let them wash right through you - you might even have a feeling of the sound being completely through you, as if you were hollow.
- Feel the water all over your skin as you swim - it's electric
- Enjoy the afterglow when you get out of the water - it's a gentle aliveness all through your body.
