Intercessors
By Thomas Suey

It is truly remarkable the vast number of intercessors that the Lord Jesus is raising up in this late hour of human history. There are a few characteristics that set these intercessors apart from the general crowd of "church as usual."

True God-called intercessors generally do not need a call from the pulpit to pray; they have already heard that call from the Holy Spirit because of their close intimate relationship to God. So, long before the pastor begs, implores, or asks for the "saints" to intercede, they have "been there, done that." God-called intercessors are highly motivated to go the secret place where the Father is in secret (He is already there and waiting) and who sees in secret and rewards openly.

No one has to tell you that a certain individual is an intercessor; it is glaringly apparent to you if you have any interaction with that person.

God-called intercessors not only are highly motivated but they love to pray and see the results of their intercessions. More often than not, their intercession is focused on current key issues at the time. These intercessors often are praying about kingdom issues instead the minutia that bogs most of the church down into the small stuff of life. You will hear them crying out for the nations - not more stuff for them.

They possess a strong discernment and often know things they could have only learned from God by sensitive listening to the Spirit. How did this happen? These intercessors are willing to spend much time alone with the Father behind closed doors.

Brother Suey is the International Prayer Coordinator for World Network of Prayer.

Having Fun at Junior Camp By Rebecca Akers

"I am packing tonight," I said to my friend Adri. I was going to Junior Camp with my friends. Adri and Yulisa were going too. I was just so happy!
At camp, there were lots of activities but this particular day people were going canoeing! "I don't really want to go, because it sounds un-animated," I said to Yulisa. "I don't either," she said. So, Yulisa and I started making plans.
"I brought curlers so we can curl our hair and hang out." I said. "Yeah let's curl our hair," Yulisa said. When everyone left it was just Yulisa, Adri, and me. We curled Adri's hair. It was lovely.
We had lots of fun. We curled hair and talked. I thought it was a marvelous day. So did Adri and Yulisa.

Staten
Jun 29-Jul 4 Jarad Staten, Republic of Georgia
Jared and Kim Staten worked as AIMers in the Republic of Georgia for one year. During that year they were able to re-establish a work that had been started previously. This work has multiplied since that contact. The pastor of the church is now licsensed as a UPCI minister and 15 people were baptized in that year. They also started a Bible school with 5 students, and the church in Georgia has also seen the growth of 4 house churches. When they return to the Republic of Georgia they plan to continue the work with the Bible school, establish a headquarters for the UPCI, and continue to establish new works in the major cities of Georgia and surrounding areas

DrostJul 6-11       Steven Drost, Mexico
Born to T. Wynn and Wanda Drost in Madrid, Spain, Steve Drost grew up on foreign fields and thrived on missions. It was only fitting that he should fall in love with and marry another MK (missionary kid), Danita Hanscom, the eldest daughter of Ron and Joy Hanscom, former missionaries to Pakistan. Shortly after their marriage, Steve Drost returned to Mexico with his new wife to serve as associates in missions. Upon their arrival, he began pastoring a church in Mexico City. Later he became the national youth director, a district secretary, and a Bible school teacher. She is the district women's secretary. Steve and Danita Drost received their missionary appointment in October 1995.

BennettAug 10-15    Steve Bennett, International Ministry
The Stephen Bennett family has served 15 years with foreign missions in the Middle East while Lloy has spent 25 years in the region. They have pioneered works in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates and have completed a year and a half of Arabic language study. Steve served on the district board as vice president of the UPC of the Gulf States. In partnership with Home Missions Division, the Bennett family, including their two daughters, are the voices behind various characters in many of the episodes of the new "Kids Power Up" radio series. The Bennetts look forward to continuing the harvest in Israel/Palestine as superintendent of the Arabic works as well as serving as adjunct professor for the Jerusalem Biblical College.
