Hello Friends:
We are back from our Live Inspired Cruise 2012 and I am pleased the trip was very successful. There were 25 of us cruising the Caribbean and visiting the Mayan ruins. It was a very rewarding experience for all of us on the trip. I look forward to being a part of future excursions to metaphysical locations.
I want to thank Tia Adams, Joy Kauf and Ce Ann for making the trip a big success. Their hard work and participation made the project possible. We made a great team and I appreciate all of them very much.
This month will be very eventful with several trips and a special Gallery with Marco Rodriguez. I will be in Shreveport this weekend at ;the Peace of Mind Center..My appearance with Marco will be on October 12th in Addison. The details are on my website and you can prepay there if you want to reserve a seat. Later in the month, I will be visiting Freeport, Maine and appearing at Leapin' Lizards Metaphysical Store. The Wisdom of Revisiting the Past
John Cappello
The Live Inspired Cruise 2012 is now over, but the short cruise to visit the Mayan ruins in Mexico has created long memories for those of us
 | | John Cappello |
who participated. We never stop learning in this life, and it is good to revisit the past to gain perspective of our society today. As a psychic, I am continually acquiring new insights into the human condition, and this trip provided a lot of information for me to understand.
We visited Chichen Itza, a well preserved Mayan city that provided a microcosm of a society that was very advanced in some ways and primitive in others. The Mayans had a class of people who were the mathematicians, astronomers, and astrologers. This group represented the rulers of the society. They developed advanced ideas that have been proven to have merit today. Their calendar, for instance, was accurate within hours and can be used as a reference to explain some of the customs of the Mayans. Some people claim the end of this calendar will signal the end of the world. They discovered the use of the "0" and could count using large numbers to make predictions well into the future. Other activities, however, within the Mayan culture would be considered barbaric by today's standards.
The Mayan ruling class, over time, started to become isolated and walled itself off from the rest of the population. Incest and human sacrifices were conducted by them in the major cities. Deformities of people within the walled cities were common in the later stages of the society. Superstitions about giving homage to the gods by sacrificing babies and other human sacrifices became a part of the culture after the 10th century. Some of these sacrifices were highlighted by the feeding of a human heart to a jaguar or an eagle. There were other gruesome aspects to their culture that we would consider barbaric by our standards today. It is believed that the decline and eventual demise of the Mayan empire was associated with these practices and other problems associated with the ruling class.
It took centuries for the Mayans to develop their culture and for it to decline. The rise of the Mayans was due to the need for a ruling class. They were used for coordination, guidance and protection from outsiders. There are thousands of Mayan structures that remain in ruins, and they may give us further insights once they are all excavated. However, there is little record of the ruling class that has been preserved. This may be a clue as to the reason the Mayan society ended. The abandonment of the major cities and abolishing of the ruling class meant that the farmers and hunters within the Mayans were left to survive on their own. There is evidence of smaller groups filling the void left when the ruling class was gone.
The lessons we can learn from the Mayans are many. The ideas and customs they had appear strange and unthinkable to us today, but there may be a time when some of our ideas and customs will appear odd to the people in the future. The extreme practices of the Mayans became outdated and unnecessary once they gained understanding. The introduction of the Spanish changed the Mayans in profound ways, and this influence remains today.
We have a society constantly changing and evolving at a record pace, just as the Mayans changed when it became necessary, we move forward to create a new reality when conditions necessitate it. The best lesson we can learn from the Mayans is to keep an open mind and be willing to change our perspective when a better idea comes along.
The Live Inspired Cruise 2012 was an excursion to learn about the

Mayans, their calendar, and the great culture they had at one time. There was value to us, a group of people learning about metaphysics, to seek wisdom and understanding about an ancient culture that may have been visited by extraterrestrials. The memories from this trip can only help us with developing our psychic abilities and grasp "existence beyond the physical". We left Mexico with a greater understanding of a different time, place, and culture previously unknown to us. It makes us sensitive and aware of others with perspectives that are different from our own in our world today. It was a trip worth the time and effort.

Is Self-deception Blocking Your Inner Wisdom?
By Sylvia Tooker, Certified Handwriting Analyst
According to Aristotle, "Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom." If Aristotle is correct, then we must seek out the secrets
 | | Sylvia Tooker |
we hide from ourselves in the form of self-deception so that inner truths can be revealed.
Self-deceit is born out of fear. At one time or another, all people have the ability to avoid facing the truth about a situation when they fear unpleasant consequences. People often create their own versions of reality to cope with problems or challenging situations, distort facts to support a current point of view, hide true motives, maintain a sense of control, justify or rationalize behavior, create a positive view on a negative situation, or defend the ego.
Self-deceit appears in handwriting as a loop on the inner left side of lower-case circle letters like 'o' and 'a'. Circle letters reveal how a person shares information with others. A loop on the inside of the circle, whether it be on the left or right side, indicates that information is being withheld. When the loop is on the inner left side, the writer is keeping information from himself or herself. The size of the loop is important, too. The bigger the loop, the bigger the deception.
Self-deceit can show up temporarily in a person's handwriting or it can be a dominant trait. It is important to notice whether its appearance is short-lived or ongoing. Many occurrences of self-deception appear briefly because they relate to a specific current issue, like ignoring the fact that a holiday is almost over in order to make the best of every moment. Long-term and chronic forms of self-delusion can be signs of unethical, criminal and other pathological behaviors.
Enlightenment is empowering, even when it hurts. To raise ourselves to a higher consciousness, we must be brutally honest with ourselves and face our fears. Even when in denial, we are not truly happy. Paying attention to signs of self-deception in our handwriting can begin the process of becoming more authentic. Inner wisdom emerges when all that was hidden is brought into the light.
"Until you master your inner universe, you will struggle and not be master of the outer." -- Swami Vivekananda

The Fire Element in
Chinese Face Reading
Sandra Moore Williams, Face Reader
In this second article on Chinese Face Reading, we will look at recognizing and understanding the Fire Element.
Physical characteristics for Fire include an oval face shape and
 | | Sandra Williams |
sharp points in the features: points on the lips, the corners of the upturned eyes and mouth.
They often have dimples and a cleft chin. You can recognize them by their dancing eyes and infectious smiles. The emotion is Joy - actually something closer to mania - a frantic need to be happy. The complementary emotion is Empathy.
The Color is red and the skin tone often has a ruddy cast. The organ is the heart.
Fire people are fun-loving and playful, with a genuine need to be the center of attention. They are "on" in the limelight, but usually crash as soon as they are out of it.
They operate from the heart so love and approval is essential. This means when they feel rejected and alone, it is an overwhelming heartache that can send them into a deep depression and isolation. What they usually want is romantic love: friendship or platonic love just isn't enough. When they feel unlovable, it brings up a deep shame. Love and attention aren't things they can give themselves, so there is a desperate need to be in the company of others.
Highly extroverted, It is difficult to get them to stand still for long or be quiet. They are natural entertainers and storytellers and no one can exaggerate a story better than a Fire! Most entertainers have a strong quality of Fire in their personality. And fun is necessary to their existence. If something isn't fun anymore, they may quit a job or leave a relationship.
Their response to anger or confrontation is to make light of it, to try to get you to laugh and ease the tension. Heavy emotions scare them; they don't know how to get themselves out of that space alone so they try not to go there.
For Fire people, emotions burn quickly so they tend to rush into relationships and may rush right back out. They will push for immediate intimacy in their bid for love and approval, sometimes sharing/asking too much too quickly with distressing inappropriateness! So boundaries are an issue.
When confronted with life-changing events, Fire personalities try to cheer others up (even at funerals), and protect them from feeling the pain. Unfortunately, they can go too far in their efforts to lighten the mood. But how dull life would be without these people who bring so much laughter and joy to us.
Some famous people with heavy Fire element include: Whoopie Goldberg, Jay Leno, Jack Black, Conan O'Brien, Jerry Seinfeld, Tina Fay, Billy Crystal, and David Letterman. Three quintessential Fire personalities are Ellen DeGeneres, Jon Stewart and Craig Ferguson.
