Past Lives

The mystery of past lives is the theme for this month as we reflect and celebrate during this festive time of year.  We celebrate the holidays in December, but we should also take moments to ponder about our past.  These are times to think about our relationships and loved ones that have crossed over.  Thinking about people in our lives and the memories of those we have known becomes important these days. These memories may be more than just from our childhood or other period in our lives as some may appear to be from other times and places. We wonder if we have lived other lives.

There are times when you may have a sudden memory or feeling that you been before you were actually there.  This déjà vue moment can be surprising and fulfilling at the same time.  If you have ever felt you already knew someone you just met, this can give you a moment of pause.  The expression, "I feel like I have known you forever", is common when you meet a kindred spirit. 

The memories we cannot identify as current or from our experiences in this life may be verified by other means.  Many times our dreams, astral projections, or a session with a hypnotist can help us determine where memories or feelings originate.  Keeping a journal for anyone studying metaphysics is important, but tracking these memories can help us solve mysteries in our life today.

Learning about ourselves is a life long endeavor, and sometimes memories from the far past can give us clues about our personalities.  Understanding the perspectives from the past can give us insight into our current life.  The growing acceptance of the possibilities of past lives has given comfort to many.  It offers an explanation about the reason for particular attitudes and gives meaning to many of our current relationships.
