Crystal of the Month
Topaz
 | The
topaz has been known for at least 2000 years and is one of the gemstones which
form the foundations of the twelve gates to the Holy City
of the New Jerusalem. These so-called apocalyptic stones are intended to serve
in protection against enemies and as a symbol of beauty and splendour. It
cannot be proved conclusively whether the name of the topaz comes from the
Sanskrit or the Greek, though the Greek name 'topazos' means 'green gemstone'.
The Romans dedicated the topaz to Jupiter.

Dear Friends,
I am looking forward to the holiday season this year. The "air" of optimism is around, and a spirit of good will is at hand. This month, I have reduced my public schedule, but I am available for private readings. Please call if you or a holiday guest want a reading.
The theme for this month is the paranormal. My radio programs and Meet Up for the month center around this theme. Dr. Rita Louise is my guest at our Meet Up, and she will be discussing techniques on ghost hunting. I am sure you will enjoy her talk. For more information on these actvities, please click on the links for my radio program and the Meet Ups.
This month's Meet Up will be the time when I ask members of the groups to assist me in a food drive for the Metroplex Animal Coalition. During the holidays, it is difficult for animal shelter volunteers to collect food for homeless animals. I believe it is important not to forget them. It is my hope that you will participate in this effort with a can or bag of pet food. It will be greatly appreciated.
Please take a look at the articles below and my upcoming schedule:

The Paranormal
______________________________________________________
by John Cappello
The paranormal is a popular topic these days for Hollywood, the Internet, ghost hunting enthusiasts, and the public in general. There are many "ghost walks" in cities seeking additional revenue for budget shortfalls and to help with tourism. It is easy to stage paranormal events for consumption with so many "haunted houses" during this season, and it is common to see programs designed to "wow" a viewing public. Ghost stories abound and talk about "exorcisms" is popular.
This is the time of year when "ghosts" are in and "intriguing minds want to know". The fact of the matter is that paranormal events happen all of the time, and we don't have to wait until October and November to experience an encounter with a spirit. Celebrations like Halloween and serious events focusing on "The Day of the Dead" bring an element of entertainment to the spiritual realm.
The very serious side of the paranormal affects many people, and this is when my work becomes important. Grieving loved ones and those noticing paranormal events come to me during the year, and they are not coming to see me for entertainment. The grieving people are seeking closure and perspective. Others are seeking solutions to their dilemma with an unwelcomed entity in their lives.
There are many reasons why we have paranormal experiences, and they cannot be discussed in just one article. Some places are "portals", and spirits appear to use them to cross from one dimension to another. Some people are tormented by spirits and need help understanding and having these spirits leave. Others need to feel connected to those on the other side. The desire to know spirits and resolve our relationship with the dimension containing them is human, and there is nothing wrong with it.
Society is gaining acceptance of the existence of paranormal activities. This acceptance is due to a greater understanding of them and misconceptions being dispelled. Hoaxes are discovered, and real experiences can be captured with sophisticated equipment. We are not finished learning about interacting with the paranormal, but we are growing from the experiences we have with it. John Cappello

Creativity and Self-Expression:
How High Do You Want to Go?
____________________________
By Sylvia Tooker,
Certified Handwriting Analyst
(This is the fourth in a series of articles about traits that affect creativity and self-expression, how they show up in handwriting, and what to do if you have them.)
How big are your dreams? How high are your goals? How high you set goals depends on how confident you are in reaching
 | | Sylvia Tooker |
them.
Not sure how to measure your levels of self-esteem and self-confidence? Your handwriting provides some clues.
Look at how you cross the lower case 't's. The height of the t-bar on the stem indicates your confidence level and the height of your goals.
If most of your 't's are crossed above the stem and not touching it, you are a dreamer. If your head stays in the clouds without any grounding in reality, your goals will never be reached. On the other hand, you may truly be a visionary and will accomplish what others deem impossible.
If you primarily cross your 't's in the upper two-thirds of the stem, you set high goals and will accomplish much. You willingly risk failures along the way because the imagined results far exceed any temporary setbacks.
Practical goal setters cross 't's halfway up the stem. You play it safe and set out to accomplish only what you know you can do rather than taking risks to reach for your dreams.
T's crossed near the bottom of the stem indicate limited beliefs about getting what you want in life, so you set low or no goals. You require security and look little farther than planning for your immediate needs.
So, how high do you want to go? If your 't's are crossed lower than 2/3 from the top of the stem, take a few minutes each day for 30 days to practice crossing them at the top of the stem, but not above it. This grapho-therapy exercise creates a new neural pathway in your brain that unconsciously begins to raise your levels of self-esteem and confidence. You will eventually let go of your willingness to settle for less and will, instead, start creating the life of your dreams.

Astrology for November 2010
____________________________________
by Elexis Rice Astrologer
November NEW moon is November 5th on Friday at noonish in Scorpio. Great time for a whole new beginning in the money area of your life. Get creative and think of some new forms of income..sell something you don't love, call all the folks who owe you money, invest in yourself for a change. The new moon is the time to rewrite your monthly wish list and read it upon awakening and before falling asleep.
Also if you sex life needs some attention.. now is the time. Where your mars is in your natal chart holds the key to your sexuality. This new moon in Scorpio can shed some insights on your passions. November 6th Saturday night late Neptune turns direct. Everything in the darkness begins to come to the light. If you have been waiting for the answers..here they come. Maybe more than you want to know. Filtering through all of the information now will be the task at hand. November 18th Thursday mid afternoon Venus turns direct in Libra. If the balance in your life of work, play, sleep has been off you can now begin to get your balance back. Any relationships that have been quirky for the last six weeks can improve with the proper tender, loving care easier now. Here is an oddity.. look for that jewelry you lost and see if it doesn't reappear now. November 21st Sunday at noonish is the FULL moon (29 degrees of Scorpio/Taurus) I call this the TMI day. Too much information, especially about money and sex. This full moon is at 29 degrees like last month.. there will be 5 in a row. 29 degrees assists us in reviewing all and ending what is over. A wise man knows when enough is enough ad the Tao Te Ching says. Mars is in Sagittarius all month long...have some fun and get outdoors. There maybe some spontaneous travel plans that can be more fun than you imagined.
Just now.. YOUR GOOD IS RUSHING TO YOU NOW.
Call me for a personal update on your chart Saturday Nov 6th for several hours I am teaching Numerology as easy as 1..2..3.. elexis@elexisrice.com

The Paranormal and Aromatherapy
by Mary Ellen Dorey
As you develop your psychic abilities, be certain that you start with the aura protection formula from last month (juniper berry-juniperus communis).
Additionally, there are other essential oils that have been associated with opening up the channels to higher vibrational energies. One oil is cistus (cistus landaniferus). It has been used in incense in the past, and is considered to be an asset to meditation and centering. Blended with spikenard (nardostachys jatamansi), to ground the body, it can be a powerful aid in connecting to higher vibrational energies.

Your House Number -Apartments
By Diana Dee
Apartments - Specifically Part 2
Usually there are two addresses for an apartment. One is the building address; the other is the actual apartment number. BOTH numbers have significance; so figure each one separately, and then add the numbers together to reach a final total, and, as before, reduce to a single number. The number that will have the most influence will be the number of your apartment unit. For the meaning of the apartment number, you can use the meanings for house numbers as listed below. If you are living in an apartment, your apartment number tells what is expected of you personally, under that number.
Number 1 This house will encourage individuality, courage, determination, and integrity for those who live there. It is an excellent house for a person who wants to undertake an individualistic creative venture. If you want to follow your own instincts, are independent, and self-reliant then this may be the house for you.
Number 2 This is a great house to develop your intuition and psychic abilities, and to pay attention to the subtle energies of gardens, art, and music. Sensitivity is heightened here, and the occupants will grow in awareness of the subtle, small aspects of life.
Number 3 This is an entertaining/party house. There is a tendency with the 3 to Play Now and pay later, so a keen eye on finances will be necessary. Remember all that entertaining can add up fast! In addition, spontaneous, impulsive action can be a challenge with the 3 house as well.
Number 4 People who live in a 4 house will find it easier to be steady, loyal, well respected, and grounded. This is a great home for planting your roots---and seeding your dreams.
Number 5 People who live here will enjoy life through its pleasures or through the thrill of being on the leading edge of new trends, owning the latest gadget, or being "in the know" of progressive thinking.
Number 6 This is the home of the gardener, especially for one who loves to beautify him home and grounds with lots of flowers. Make this a place of beauty and love, for that's the natural vibration of the 6.
Number 7 In this house, pairs of contemplative, introspective souls will do very well here. Raising children and nurturing family interests are amplified in a 7 house.
Number 8 If you're ready to get the material side of your life in order, move into an 8 house. This house will encourage organization, vision, and management of financial matters, and through disciplineand vision, you can achieve a position of power while living in an 8 house. Success and financial abundance are possible under this house's vibration. It will often be a place of business activity.
Number 9 This is a home for the compassionate and the tolerant, a great space for the humanitarian. If you have no racial or social prejudices, or have a burning desire to help the world, this is the house for you. The 9 vibration allows you to see the possibilities, to see beyond limitations and oppression. This is a home for the broadminded thinkers. You will find rewards for past efforts in this house.
Often times we have no choice in the address of our home; but just remember that every number vibration has its own beauty, and the number on your house or apartment is exactly what you need at that moment in your life. In numerology we believe there are no accidents in where you live and the experiences you draw to you... it's simply another intricately woven part of the tapestry of life!

Love Lives On by Louis Le Grand, Phd
 | | Nancy Marlowe |
(This is a book review by Nancy Marlowe, Clairvoyant and Medium)
This book is a book of comfort, hope and inspiration not only to those who are mourning the death of a loved one, but to anyone who is seeking to connect at a higher level with the presence of a greater Universe .
Through the use of true personal stories about life after death, Grief Counselor, Dr. Louis LaGrand seeks to bring comfort to the bereaved. I found these personal stories to be touching, and even awe inspiring, as each one unfolds to gently teach us, "Death is a door, not a wall."
The moving stories are told by real people from everyday life who have experienced what Dr LaGrand calls an Extraordinary Encounter. EE's are visitations from a deceased person to people who are still living.
Throughout the book, "Love Lives On", Dr. LaGrand gives examples of beneficial actions that can be taken by a mourner to overcome grief.
And although the book seeks to primarily address comforting the loss of a deceased loved one, the recommendations for beginning a new life after a death is applicable to many types of loss; including loss through divorce, loss of friendship, loss of lifestyle and so on.
What I found most interesting about the book was the unexpected discovery that the book is chockfull of advice to anyone who wants to eliminate negativity, in any form, from their life. LaGrand fills the book with sound suggestions for leading a more spirit filled, positive thinking, open minded, joyful lifestyle.
Dr. LaGrand is a master teacher who gives the reader easy to follow, step by step instructions about how to move forward and leave loss behind. Having worked as a teacher and counselor myself, I found that "Love Lives On" is especially inspirational and motivating to any person who wants to build a better life .
"Love Lives On" is a book of wisdom to keep on your shelf for reference as it seeks to bring peace, and love, to a suffering heart at a time of great need.
At the core of the book, remains the highly intimate stories of people whose lives have been changed for the better through personal encounters with the dead.
Each inspirational story relates how the person who experienced the EE came away from the visitation with a new outlook, an inner knowing that we are never alone, and a heartfelt realization that we are all one.
Additionally, many of the storytellers go on to say that their EE experience changed not only their lives, but the lives of people who they told of their Extraordinary Encounter with the dead.
An important point the reader learns from these stories is this: A single visitation from a deceased person can create a "domino effect" of love. As the story is told over and over, it spreads a comforting message of love from one person to the next; thereby enriching the life of not just one person, but of many.
Storytellers in "Love Lives On" went on to say they felt extremely fortunate to have "heard from" their deceased loved once again. They found that after their EE experience old hurts and issues were dissolved; peace was brought to both the deceased, and the living because these old wounds were healed by the visitation.
Amazingly, many times the visitations were from a deceased person who did not believe in an afterlife.
In addition, the EE's not only healed past hurts, but gave comfort to the mourners in knowing that their loved ones were not really gone from them. Furthermore, the grieving person felt the visitation was a gift of love from the departed because it clearly demonstrated to them that love never dies.
The importance of the personal stories is amplified for the reader when each storyteller goes on to say that their encounter with the dead significantly decreased the pain of their loss and helped immensely in their grief recovery.
In summary, Extraordinary Encounters offered "proof" of continued life to the storyteller by demonstrating to them that their loved one continued to live on in another realm. This newfound knowledge gave the mourner a sense of comfort and peace of mind, with the realization that love is eternal and never dies.
Most of all, the title of the inspirational last chapter sums it up best, "You are Loved Forever."
