 One of the pieces in the Ogunquit Museum of American Art's 2010 Almost Labor Day Auction is John Imber's Portland Pier. When the Bidding Starts:
Live Auction Will Present 59 Works The 6th Annual Ogunquit Museum of American Art Almost Labor Day Auction. will feature an incredible selection of 59 art works from nationally known artists and some of the most prestigious individuals working in Perkins Cove and Ogunquit since the Museum was founded. Included are works by Charles Woodbury, Edward Betts, DeWitt Hardy and Pat Hardy, woodcuts by Don Gorvett and oils by Katherine Doyle (including the Auction's signature image, top.)

 Teeny Tiny Art Vendor at Silent Auction
The Ogunquit Museum of American Art presents the Teeny Tiny Art Vendor for the evening of the Almost Labor Day Auction, on loan (thank you!) from Three Graces Gallery in Portsmouth.
The image shows the machine with a recent sample of offerings at Three Graces. The OMAA Teeny Tiny Art Vendor will showcase the work of seven different artists including photographer Nancy Grace Horton, illustrator Bill Paarlberg, Mildred Johnson, Helen Rose Hennessey, Russel Whitten, Ali Goodwin and Sarah Haskell.
The art vending machine recycles a classic cigarette machine from the 1950s, replacing the packs with small packs of original art at prices ranging from $50 to $75. Buy tokens at the desk, drop them in the slot, pull the knob and presto! An original work of art and a purchase that supports the not-so-teeny work of the Ogunquit Museum of America Art. . |
 Join the Auction Action with a Donation to the White Glove Fund
The 2009 OMAA Auction introduced a new concept for guests who want to participate in the Auction fund-raising: donations to support specific conservation projects and reframing needs.
This year's White Glove Fund will support the cleaning and re-framing of the Charles Woodbury painting, "The Wave" and framing, under glass, for Mark Tobey's "Space Intangibles" (above) -- two important pieces from the Museum's permanent collection.

Bid Early, Bid Often on Silent Auction Treasures
Each year, the Silent Auction leads off the festivities for the Almost Labor Day fund-raiser for the Ogunquit Museum of American Art. Offering travel getaways, personal art experiences, hand-crafted items by local artisans and -- always -- a new surprise or two, the Silent Auction is a major contributor to the success of the event. |

| About the Oqunquit Museum of American Art |
The Ogunquit Museum of American Art engages and educates a diverse audience by collecting, exhibiting, preserving, and interpreting American art from the nineteenth century to the present. The Museum integrates its unique artistic heritage and setting to enhance visitor enjoyment and understanding of art. The Museum building, grown since its founding in 1953 to approximately 7,500 square feet, is home to the Museum's 1,600-piece Permanent Collection.
The annual Almost Labor Day Auction is a highlight of the social and cultural season -- and a major source of funding --for the Ogunquit Museum of American Art. Last year's Auction contributed over $51,000 to Museum operating expenses. The Museum at 543 Shore Road in Ogunquit, Maine is open from May through October. Hours: 10am - 5pm, Mon-Sat; 1 - 5pm, Sun. Admission is: $8 adults, $7 seniors/students, free to members and children under 12. Programs are included with the price of regular admission. |
