Our "Image of the Week" features singer/songwriter Jackie Bristow (left) born and raised in the South Island of New Zealand along with Milwaukee's own WAMI Award-nominated singer Annie B. during a break from their performances this past weekend in Blue Ribbon Hall at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery. Alternative rock singer/songwriter Annie B. is quickly making a name for herself on the Milwaukee music scene. Annie has been heard on numerous radio stations from New York to L.A. She relocated to Milwaukee in 2008, and has been building on that momentum. With over 300 original songs in her catalog, her material takes a journey from funky-pop to gritty powerhouse to pretty, melodic ballads for the softies. Heartfelt lyrics juxtaposed with great storytelling, a unique percussive style, and mesmerizing stage presence provide an unforgettable experience for everyone, from serious music connoisseurs to people just looking for good entertainment. A southern girl at heart Jackie Bristow moved to Australia in 1994, where she established herself as a professional musician and recording artist, signing to Mushroom and Liberation music in 1999, Craving Records in 2005 and Native Tongue in 2007. Jackie, now hailing from Austin, TX just released her 3rd album "Freedom" and spent 2011 opening for musicians Marc Cohn, John Waite, and Bob Schneider. Currently there are new shows being announced and Jackie will be opening for Jimmy Lafave, John Oates and Bettye Lavette. Click here for additional images from their performance.
