Six Tips for Living Greener Real Green Living This Summer 1. If you can't afford to buy all organic, review the Environmental Working Group (EWG)'s "Dirty Dozen," a list of foods most likely to have high levels of pesticide residue. Peaches, sweet bell peppers, celery, nectarines strawberries and spinach are best when bought organic. 2. When going on a picnic or having a backyard cookout, remember to buy either reusable or compostable plates and cutlery. Preserve makes plates, cutlery and cups that are not only recycled and recyclable, but they are dishwasher safe, too. 3. Choose to use chemical-free sunscreen. Mineral-based sunscreens, like those from Lavera, are not only safer for us and the environment but frequently offer stronger UVA protection than their chemical counterparts. 4. Make your own organic fertilizer by composting. You can purchase compost bins and tumblers, or simply start an open-air pile in your backyard. Organic food scraps (no dairy, meat or bones) can be added to the composter, along with grass clippings and leaves. Add your finished compost to flower and vegetable gardens alike, and your plants will thank you. 5. Turn scrap fabric into reusable cloth napkins. The fabric doesn't have to be all the same, and is actually more fun if patterns and colors vary. Each guest, or member of the family, will be able to keep track of their napkin just based on the pattern they chose, all without having to purchase fancy napkin rings. 6. Install a rain barrel. Harvesting your own rainwater will not only save you money, but your plants will love the chlorine-free lukewarm water. You will also be doing your community a service by helping to reduce city water consumption, and helping to reduce flash flooding, too. |

Tip of the Month
Monthly Energies for April
On 4/5/11, we entered a 6 hard-metal month in a 7 soft-metal year. This is good news with a flip side. It means money energy improves. That could be a Wall Street indicator, or meaningful at home (jobs, raises, more family income). This 6:7 energy brings with it competition for males, and an increase in injuries via guns. Let's hope it doesn't imply global escalations.
According to the cycle of the 12 Chinese astrology signs, this month Dog people are challenged. Be conservative this month and don't initiate anything new. However, partnerships are supported. Is this a time to take a relationship to the next level?
All of 2011 (through 2/4/12) is challenging for Roosters since the Rooster is the Rabbit's opposite. Also, dragons are challenged because next to the Rooster, the Dragon is the next-worst challenged Chinese astrology sign. Roosters and Dragons would do well to consider a Feng Shui consult!
From a Feng Shui perspective, Kun and Gen (earth) people and buildings, and Zhen and Xun (wood) people and buildings are challenged in 2011. Kun buildings sit SW and face NE. Gen buildings sit NE and face SW. Zhen buildings sit East and face West. Xun buildings sit SE and face NW. Kun people are a kua number 2. Gen people are 8. Zhen people are 3, and Xun people are 4. Don't know what element you are? Find out here for free! http://www.intuitiveconcepts.com/articletrigram.htm Again, consider a consult!

| Testimonial of the Month
Diana, When you had the conference call with Mom and Dad in January 2010, I sat in on the call. You asked me to observe 2010 to see if there was an increase in broken bones from people hurting themselves (since I work as a paramedic). We saw a high volume of people with broken or dislocated bones in 2010 - not just the station where I work at, it was all over. You asked me to pay attention to that to see if what you thought for the year would be correct. It was.
