Greetings!

The collections for the Garage Sale are IN and the Sale is ON.

We had a good turn out for the first day which was yesterday. The sale goes through Sunday, so stop by to check it out. We are also taking off an additional 10% on all sale items in the back room which are normally discounted 30%! Good stuff!!

Summer Classes at knitch

While the class selections are not as many, we feel we have some exciting ideas for summer knitting and crocheting. Beginning classes last only two weeks and we have several exciting one day workshops planned that include making a new fashion statement with two offerings for knitted accessories/fiber jewelry and a dye workshop for those of you wanting to create your own unique yarn color. All you need to bring along is your creative spirit. The short, frivolous shawl is IN style!. Join Sue B for the Simple Summer Shawl class featuring 4 of her designs. Knit one up for yourself for a cool summer evening and to ward off the chill from AC, and then whip up one for your best friend.

The kuku doll is back! We have new patterns in stock for the quick knit for each of your favorite wee ones!

WWKiP 2World Wide Knit in Public Day 2012

We are pleased to announce that we are once again hosting a WWKiP (WolrdWide Knit in Public Day) at knitch. The event will take place on Saturday, June 16 from noon until 3. We will meet at the Clock Tower square on Genesee Street; but please stop by the shop first to collect your discount card. This card will only be given out to the WWKiP knitters, and includes shopping discounts at many local merchants as well as beverage discounts at Milwaukee Traders! This is a day for knitters to get out of their homes, where knitting is often done alone, and to meet other knitters, socialize, share ideas and build community. Bring a chair, your knitting or crocheting, sunscreen and a hat! WWKiP 1

Last year, our first, was a great success and we hope you will choose to join us again on June 16!

Remember the Children

Several people have asked if we were going to do another toy challenge next fall like we did in 2011. We are indeed thinking of it but remember, you can bring in toys for Pals Bring Joy, which serves ill children in the HOT UNIT (Hematology Oncolcogy Transplant) at Children's Hospital, at anytime. We also serve as a collection point for the Mother Bear Project which sends crochet or knit bears to Africa to children whose lives have been touched by the Aids Virus.
